have the new sanctuary
facing Second Street (at the
corner of Sunset) in harmo
ny with the older worship
center.
The new building, built
by Warren Scott of Ameri
cus, includes not only the
spacious sanctuary, but
also a suite of offices for the
minister and staff and a
meeting room.
While the congregation
will begin using the new
sanctuary this Sunday, the
big event will be next
month, Wojohn said.
A dedication service is
planned for 5 p.m.. Sept.
26, starting at 5:30, with
former pastors of the
church and many friends of
the congregation on hand
to share in the celebration.
Among those with the
most to celebrate will be the
church’s hardworking
building committee:
pated in many Lay Witness
Mission weekends. In addi
tion, Smith has traveled to
Brazil with Rick Bonfim
Ministries, actively involved
with the Emmaus Walks,
and returned from Israel.
Smith claims the heart of
her ministry is to touch
wounded, hurting people
for Jesus Christ. A time of
personal ministry will fol
low the meeting.
Refreshments will be
served. All women are
encouraged to come. For
