It’s been a big year for
Dr. Bill and Peggy Jerles,
and Friday evening found
them celebrating Bill's 65th
birthday, Peggy's 39th(!)
and their 40th wedding
anniversary. They and
their children Billy and
Dawn Jerles, Kelly Jerles of
Nashville and Dr. Matthew
and Tami Jerles of Macon
invited a group of middle
Georgia relatives and
friends to join them in the
ballroom of Idle Hour
Country Club for food, fel
lowship and family enter
tainment.
Warmly welcomed on
behalf of the family by Matt
Jerles who paid loving trib
ute to parents who raised
them right, delighted
guests were treated to an
evening of musical enter
tainment by talented chil
dren and relatives of the
Jerles. They were accompa
nied on piano by Bob
Finney who performed with
Kelly in Aspen and Vail.
Billy sang back up from
“way back" as he had been
told he can really carry a
tune and dad Bill chimed
in with “King of the Road"
like the king of this family
he really is. He even coop
erated when encouraged t o
sing “Dixie" and did a
memorable rendition.
Peggy's brother A 1 Pearson
charmed the ballroom
crowd with tunes from
“Fiddler on the Roof."
This enjoyable event
coincided with Kellv's 15th
Westfield class reunion
Saturday which she
attended.

radio was king, and you
could enjoy the broadcast of
a live baseball game or even
a musical variety show.
For the enjoyment of
middle Georgia families.
Perry Players is re-creating
those times. “The 1940’s
Radio Hour" is a realistic
look at an hour-long pro
duction of the Mutual Man
hattan Variety Cavalcade.
Bring your grandparents to
enjoy the music and com
mercials that were on the
radio in December 1942.
America was deeply into
World War 11, and the music
told the story from the
soft, jazzy blues that
describe the sorrow of sep
aration from loved ones, to
spirited patriotism in sup
port of the boys "over
there." The performance
sports 15 songs of that era,
including “111 Be Seeing
You," “Blues in the Night.",
"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."
“Ain’t She Sweet" and
“Strike up the Band." Ask
your grandparents if they
remember Sal Hepatica and
Nash automobiles.
