Jan. 29 wedding vows
Mr. and Mrs. George Gilbert Branshn of Fayetteville
announce the engagement of their daughter Lyle Tamra
Branson to Mark Hanse Massey, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.
Hanse Massey of Perry.
The wedding will take place at 6 p.m.. Jan. 29, 2000, at
Martha Bowman United Methodist Church in Macon.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Zelma Moore
and the late Clifford Thomas Moore of Opelika, Alabama,
Nell Branson and the late George G. Branson of Birming
ham, Alabama. She received her bachelor of science
degree in education from Auburn University, and is a spe
cial needs preschool teacher at the Butler Early Childhood
Center in Macon.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. J. C. Saunders
and the late J. C. Saunders, and the late Mr. and Mrs.
Mark W. Massey, all of Moultrie. He attended Valdosta
State .University,' and is assistant general manager of Mid
State Construction and Stripeing of Perry.

The wedding will take place at 3 p.m. , Nov. 4. at
the Houston County Courthouse in Perry.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late
Cora Maude Ridley of Perry. She is a 1999 graduate
of Perry High School and attends Middle Georgia
Technical Institute, where she is studying marketing
management
The groom-elect is the grandson of Annie Tripp and
the late David Tripp Sr., of Columbus and Rosalyn
and Wilber Batts of North Carolina. He is a 1999
graduate of Houston County High School and will
begin basic training in the U.S. Air Force on Nov. 16.

Headstart focuses on basic learning needs of students

of the Headstart programs

The Perry Headstart is
located along Tucker Road.
It currently serves 34 stu
dents, ages 3-5 years old.
It is one of 22 Headstart
programs in 15 counties.
According to Neal, 10
percent of the program’s
students are dealing with a
disability.
“We have an active wait
ing list, and encourage
families with a disabled
child to enroll him or her
into the program," said

Center Supervisor.
The program uses a cre
ative curriculum to prepare
children for school. “It
gives the children a head
start on how to learn," said
