Amy and Jonathan Fouse
Amy Michelle Phelps exchanges
vows with Jonathan Fouse
Amy Michelle Phelps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David
Phelps of Perry, became the bride of Jonathan Aaron Fouse,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Fouse of Macon, in a lovely can
dlelight ceremony at Crossroads United Methodist Church
in Perry on Oct. 9, 1999.
The Rev. Leland Collins officiated. Music was provided by
Margaret Watson, organist and pianist, and by vocalists Tal
itha Pigford of Panama City, Florida, cousin of the groom,
and Mandy Dix of Ocilla. Selections included “In This Very
Room,", “Household of Faith," and “The Lord’s Prayer."
The bride’s honorary grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bor
ders of Perry, the bride's mother. Alice Phelps, and the
groom’s parents, Ronnie and Judy Fouse, were escorted into
the church sanctuary to the music of "Jesu, Joy of Man’s
Desiring.”
The bride, who was given in marriage by her lather and
mother, wore a gown of candlelight silk. The bodice of the
gown was adorned with appliqued lace, crystal sequins and
faux pearls, and the a-line, floor-length skirt was accented
with matching appliques. The back of the gown featured silk
roses at the waist and covered buttons for the full length of
the dress and train. The bride’s fingertip-length veil was
gathered to a headband of embroidered silk and pearls. She
wore a single strand of pearls, given to her as a wedding gift
by the groom, and carried a cascade of roses, stephanotis,
lisianthus and freesia, which was centered with an orchid.
Maids ol honor were Beth Doolittle of Newberry', South
Carolina, and Christine Gilbert of Vienna, Virginia. Brides
maids were Connie Bryan of Ocilla, Shannon Fouse of Hat
tiesburg, Mississippi; Libby Hargrove ofTlfton, Carrie Whid
den of Nashville and Alisha Wilson of Macon.
The bridesmaids wore floor-length burgundy crepe gowns
with straight skirts and short sleeves banded in satin. They
carried arm bouquets of calla lilies, larkspur and roses on
a le d of milky way leaves.
Claire MeNeely of Macon, the flower girl, wore a white
satin dress with leg-of-mutton sleeves gathered at the
shoulder with pink and mauve silk flowers and ribbons. She
earned a satin rose petal basket which matched her dress.
The groom and groomsmen wore black tuxedos. The
groom chose Michael Lyons of Macon as his best man. The
groomsmen were brother of the groom, Kenneth Fouse of
Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Rick Hilton, Jason MeNeely, Vern
Ryle, Brian Taylor and Chris Weeks, all of Macon.
The wedding was directed by Ann Lanter. The floral
arrangements and bouquets were designed by Mary Las
siter. Wedding programs were presented to guests by Brid
get and Brittany Howard,of Albany, cousins of the bride.
f ollowing the wedding, a reception was hosted by the
bride’s parents in the church fellowship hall. Servers were
Gay Chambless, Cindy Howard, Wanda Bragg, Shirley
Burkes. Faye Martin and Lisa Bragg. Greeters were Alma
Beckham and Emily Montgomery. Meredith Wilson kept the
bride's book
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents
at the New' Perry Hotel on the evening of Oct. 8.
The newlyweds are planning a Thanksgiving honeymoon
cruise to the Bahamas. They are making their home in
Macon.
