Pop tabs equal utility bill help
for Ronald McDonald House
By CHARLOTTE PERKINS

Sometimes, small things
can add up to something
important, especially if love
and determination are part
of the effort.
That’s one lesson that
some Perry students have
been learning recently,
thanks to the encourage
ment of Alvalyn Pope and
the Missions Committee of
the Crossroads United
Methodist Church.
The goal? To help pay the
utility bills at the Ronald
McDonald House of Central
Georgia.
The facility serves as a
temporary home to families
who must travel to be with
critically-ill children who
are hospitalized at the Chil
dren’s Hospital of the Med-

The small things? Pop
tabs from aluminum soft
drink cans, which are col

recycling program orga

The program benefits the
children, their families and
the environment, but it
takes a great many pop
tabs.
