Stanley family continues tradition of
annual Christmas party for friends
Mike and Tammy Stan
ley entertained fellow Wey
erhaeuser employees, clog
ging partners and friends
in the community with
their annual Christmas
party at their Langston
Road home. The traditional
first Saturday in December
event began when they
came to Perry in 1982 and
has escalated over time to a
grander scale.
Tammy prides herself on
the food she prepares and
freezes beginning after
Labor Day.,. rumaki,
quiche Lorraine... you
name it, it’s served.
The house is decorated
throughout with Santas
and this year their gazebo
was aglow with Christmas
lights. The Christmas tree
was decorated with apples,
bows and popcorn... all
natural things. Luminarias
lighted the way to the fes
tivities.
The basement, which
they and the doggers use
these days for practice ses
sions. was decorated in a
western motif with red chili
peppers lights and music
for dancing. The three
Stanley children and a
friend played upstairs until
10 o’clock at which time
they could join the party.
Traditional also is an
individual photo in front of
the tree and one of
Tammy’s handmade orna
ments this year a bell
angel.

Kelly Coleman and Steve
Rodgers found their way to
the alter Saturday evening
for a traditional Methodist
wedding in a beautifully
Christmas decorated Perry
United Methodist Church.
They were married by
former youth minister and
associate pastor, the Rev.
Jim Mcllrath, to saxophone
music of his son Jimmy
Mcllrath and guitar and
Christmas songs of Steve’s
good Atlanta friend, David
Teems. His final selection
“I’ve Found My Home” was

Especially touching was
the tribute of groomsman
John Clay to his good

The view of Christmas

So if you’re going over that

Never underestimate the
ingenuity of Peny Players
to put it all together. Last
weekend they presented “A
Star at the Crossroads" as
their Christmas gift to the
community.
In his opening night
introduction Dennis Hoop
er, president of Perry Play
ers, explained that the
summer youth workshop
led by Donna James had
learned to perform just the
play if she could only get
them back together again.
And get them back together
she did, in top form!
Those young stars of
tomorrow had the perfect
message for the beginning
of the Christmas season
with “A Star is Born." It
was the greatest love story
of all time seen and heard
in a fresh new way.
That clever Donna James
also heads up a group of
five ladies from Ingleside
Baptist Church who sing
together for the glory of the
Lord. “Five Points to a Star"
performed a medley of
Christmas selections that
ranged from classics to
spiritual.
