He was retired from Robins
Air Force Base where he
worked in civil service as

he was a Mason. In addi
tion, he was a Shriner and
very active in the Senior
Citizen’s Club. His parents,
Buford H. Collins and Lena
W. Arnold Collins, preceded
him in death.

Car thief drops boy
after stealing car
NORCROSS (AP) - A 1-
year-old boy was found
unharmed early Wednesday
shortly after the car he was
in was stolen.
The car was stolen from a
convenience store when the
boy’s father left the car run
ning while he went inside
the store, Gwinnett County
Police Cpl. Darren Moloney
said. Someone took the car
but dropped the child off
at an apartment complex
in DeKalb County less than
two miles away, police said.
Police had no suspects in
the theft.
Rape suspect
arrested in case
ATLANTA (AP) - A man
who had been released on
bond on accusations of rap
ing a girl has been arrested
again and is accused of sexu
ally assaulting another girl.

McDonald, 27, was arrested
Tuesday and charged with
rape, aggravated sodomy
and false imprisonment,
Atlanta police spokeswoman
NaTanya Albritton said.
The arrest is related to a
Monday incident in which a
girl who was walking to sum
mer school was forced into
an empty unit of a duplex
and raped.
Police and neighborhood
residents said the girl,
believed to be 12 to 14 years
old, was about a block away
from Walter Leonard Parks
Middle School in south
west Atlanta when a man
on a bicycle approached her
around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
After speaking to her, the

man started pulling the
girl toward an empty unit
in a nearby duplex, said
Randolph Cook, who lives
next door.
“I thought they knew each
other because they were
laughing,” Cook said.
Cook related the incident
to his wife, Mary Smith,
who said she hurried to the
duplex and chased the man
away.
Arrest made in
square destruction
SAVANNAH (AP) - A man
wanted in the destruction
of one of Savannah’s pictur
esque squares with a car a
month ago has been arrested
on multiple charges, police
said Tuesday.
Leon Rondell Kaymore,
33, was jailed after being
arrested Monday at nearby
Tybee Island, accused of giv
ing police there false infor
mation.
Savannah-Chatham
County police had been
looking for Kaymore since
June 5, when he allegedly
tried to run over a police
officer before plowing into
Chatham Square, causing
extensive damage to trees,
lamp posts, benches and
shrubbery, police said.
No one was injured.
Kaymore, who had been
stopped for driving without
headlights and suspicion of
driving under the influence,
climbed out of the wreckage
and fled, police said.
