influx and an overwhelming pressure of

the aid of twenty assistants, which 1 am
not disposed to employ in any exigency,
meet the applications at that time, so as

void the expense of travelling to the Scat
of Government, you may readily obtain
your grants by enclosing to me by mail,
or private conveyance, $4 25 for all
grants under 600 acres, and for all grants
over 500 and not exceeding 1000 acres,
the sum of $7 50. The grants will be
promptly attended to, and the change,
ts any, will be fonnd in the envelope on
the receipt of your grant or grants. For
your further information, you will re
member that no money is received in the
State Treasury, except the bills of the
State Bunk, Planters Bank,;
Bank of Augusta, the Darien Bank, and
the State Bank of South-Carolina. $ 1
on the small grants and $2 on the largest
grants; North-Carolina State bills will
lie received by the state officers for their
fees, and bills of one or two unchartered
banks, say Sanford’s, Bullock & Wells’
in small sums occasionally. Cou ty Sur
veyors are requested to transmit, with
out delay, all plats which remain in their
offices to this office.
