1 he List of Fortunate Drawers in Burke,
Columbia, and Richmond counties, is com
pleted this day.'—To thoso who have
drawn prizes, we wish a happy new year;
■md to those who have not, better luck.
L c return our most sincere acknow
ledgements to those members of Congress,
wiio nave favored us with communications
regarding the proceedings of, and docti
niciits furnished to, Congress,
During a short absence from town, the
Paper was committed very much to
Chance ; and wc are a little' inclined to
quarrel with her, that she had so little re.
gard fonts.—Her blindness, however is
somewhat of an apology ; and if our rea*
ders did are Milieclgeville news selected
horn Savannah papers, and a second edi
tion ofwh.it was in the Chronicle before,
why no nutter, old things must become
new, as new things grow old.—Wo have
hopes however, that the memories of all
are not so retentive as they might be ;
and even if it should be so, that their
partiality has attached more value to the
paragraphs, than (certain circumstances
apart,) their judgments would led them
they are worth.
Tlte self sufficiency of the Editor of the
Charleston City Gazette, seems to set
very comfortably upon him -and his as
surance has just such a foundation as feel
ings like his ought to have.—For our own
part, we care nothing for what any scrib
lercan write, whoci.n have the hardihood
to say that the Editors of the Richmond
Enquirer are impertinent, and who takes
the trouble to advise Mr. Moult, to read
Duncan’s Logic.—
But this writer mistakes the matter
most egrcgionsly ; —wc never intended
the reply merely {'or himself.—There is a
species of political Dandyism about some
of (he Charleston writers which has given
their notions a currency that is not pro
portioned to their value.—Among the rest,
is tde Editor of the Charleston Gazette ;
and he took the liberty of saying that
Georgia was the properly of Gen. Clark
aud Mi. Crawford,
Now there never was a grosser libel
upon the chnrac.er of any free and on
lighted people ; and we are confident that
public opinion will Lear us out in the as
sertion.
Wo will in fart go further, and say, that
the man who cpuld deliberately pen such
an article, can have no genuine feeling
about him ; ar I of course not charity
enough to cover his vanity.

As to affairs of the Greek Revolution, we
have no new light presented to us; and
clouds and dullness still rest upon the
designs of Russia.
One day we are told that all is tranquil
at Constantinople and Smyrna, and the
next we hear that the streets afford daily
scenes of outrage and murder. A letter
from Constantinople statea, that massacres
there continue, but in another manner —
Greeks from Moldavia, Walachia, and the
viluges round Constantinople, peaceable
men against whom no reproach can be
made, and in general labourers, are
brought thither accused by the Turks of
conspiracy, and dragged by executioners

his power, and he calls upon his “faithful
Mussulmans lo be day and night on their
guard and in arms, that their pel bilious '
enemy may not si;prize them.” He
slates that his eyes h..ve been opened by
the demand of Russia that the Greeks
should he made independant, and he ex
presses himself ready “ to support a war,
however long or sanguinary it may be,”
rather than to accede to the concessions p
required. By some it is said that no such
