Ctt 4 | REWARD—WiII he given for the
j I uMJ apprehensionand delivery to me of
j a certain Negro man by the name of Bill, or Wil
liam as he is sometimes called, at Society Hill
Alabama, or safely lodged in any safe jail in Geor
j gia or South Carolina, so that I can get him. Said
negro is about 35 years of age, 5 feel 8 or 9 inches
high, quite black, spare made, quick in his move
ments, answers readily and quickly when spoken
to, speaks broken in his dialect, has some signs of
the small pox. 1 know of no other marks, as Lhave
owned him but a short time previous to his elope
j ment. He is fond of music, and is remarkab.e for
his expertness in keeping time with it by means of
two small paddles or sticks, which he uses in one
hand between his fingers.
The above named negro left me in Baldwin coun
county, Ga., in July, 1837, and has been seen since
in the lower part of Jones county, and is probably
now lurking about Macon, Augusta, or Charleston,
S. G. where he was raised.

PEDIGREE.
J. R. H. Acklin, Esq. of Huntsville, Alabama,
certifies as follows :—“ Tom T unstall was foaled
mine on the 29th May, 1831. His dam was High
land Mary and her dam a full-blooded Archie mare;
the sire of Highland Mary was old PacoleL Tom
Tunstall was sired by o d Pacific, and he by old
Sir Archie. This is as far as lam able to go, tho’
I am satisfied Tom Tunstall has descended from as
good a stock as any horse in the United States.—
He was a race horse of tlie first order, hut I lear
will never be able to make a first rate race again,
owing to hi? leg; it was injured when a three year
old, in training, as I believe. By addressing Hae- i
dy Crver, Gallatin. Tennessee, you can get a full
pedigree of the dam of Tom Tunslall.” The same
Mr. Hardy Cryer certifies thus :—“ Highland Mary
combined as many or more rich crosses of thorough
breds than any maie ever raised in Tennessee"
She was got by the noted hop>e Pacolet, the son of
imported Citizen ; her dam Rosey Carcv by Sir
Archie; grand-dam Sally Jones by the'imported
horse Traveller, called Big Ben or Charlemaine.
(son of O’Kelle; ’s Eclipse, and one of the purest
importations of tne last century;) great grand-dam
by the imported horse Wrangler; great-great-grand
dam O’Possum by imported Shark; great-great
great-grand-dam by the celebrated American quar
ter race horse, Goode's old Twigg; great-great
great-great-giand-dam by imported Fearnaught;
great-greal-great-great-great-grand-darn by Lee’s
old Mark Anthony out of a mare by imported Mou
key.” On the sire’s side it is deemed unnecessary
to trace beyond Sir Archie. It is presumed none
wi;l require a purer or better attested pedegree*—
