Rice. —There has been some inquiry for this ar-

I India market, w hich, together with the very small
I supply on sale, has advanced former quotations.
I The transactions are 1041 tierces at the fallowing

Grain. —About 8000 bushels Corn have been re

bushel as a fair criterion of the market, sales hav
ing been made a little below, and at something
above this rate. About 160 bales Hay have also
been received, which w'as sold to arrive with our
quotations 100 to 110 per 100 lbs.
Flour. —A fair business has been doing in Balti

on speculation, on terms not made phblic. 60 box
es brown Havana brought 7 cents per lb; and 50
barrels while do. sold at a fraction below quoted
rates.
Molasses. —Two separate lots West India 3lo
lasses brought prices within the range of our quo
tations, viz ; 20 a 22 cents per gallon.
Coffee. —Between 3 and 400 bags Rio have
changed hands at our quotations, 10 a 11 cents per
pound, ®

up at a cent per lb. for Cotton.

“July 3.—Qnr market has been stimulated by the
i accounts of irundation at the South, and the pur
chases are large f>r the week; but it has lost firm
ness and animation at the close, and under the
; pressure of expected airivals, will not be buoyant,
unless some more decisive intelligence of damage
to the growing crop should be received.”
s “July 3. Vou will notice that the sales have
been large—an advance of s>■ lb. was es
tablished in the early part of the week, but it
closes rather lower, or at least with less anima
tion.”
“July 3.—Our market has subsided from its late
» excitement, to which our last advices from Man
) Chester have contributed. Two days ago the ad
vance amounted to about lb. within the fort
-1 night, but this is nearly lest again. Sea Islands
are dull.”
, Manchester, July 3.
There has been but a very limited business done
throughout the week, either in goods or twist; and
r of the former still less would have been done had
; bo* there been a little speculative demand in J
printing Cloths, (he best qualities of which are not
lower, whilst inferior, whether in power or hand
- loom (doth, must be noticed a shade lower than on
this day se nnight, and even than Tuesday. Good
water Twist is to be had at from to lOffd,
which is 2£d less than on this day twelve months.
Country buyers only take goods very sparingly,
the continued unfavorable accounts making them
J still more cautious than even they were last week.
) Ihe news from China being more favorable than
was expected, has given more firmness to such
goods as are suitable to that market. The stoppage
of the Commercial Bank has hitherto produced much
less effect than was anticipated.
