LOUIS OFFON GOELICKE,
of Germany,
The Greatest of Human Benefactors
Citizens of North and South America,
To Lotus Offon Goeiacke, .M. D., of Germany,
[Europe.j belongs the imperishable honor of adding
u ne iv aii l precious doctrine to the science of medi
cine —a doctrine which, though vehemently opposed
iy many oi the faculty, (of whicii lie is a valuable
member,) lie proves to bo as well founded in truth
as any doctrine of Holy Writ —a doctrine, upon the
verity of winch are suspended the lives of millions
0 f our race, and which lie boldly challenges his op
p.-ers to refute, viz: Consumption is a disease al
ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis Vitae
or Life Principle) of the human body: A/ 1 often
secretly lurking in the system for years before
here is the .east complaint of the Lungs —and
which may be as certainly, though not so quickly,
cur***!, as a common co dor a simple headache. An
invaluably preciou- doctrine this, as < f imparts an
important lerson to the pparcnlly healthy of both
sexes, teaching them that tais insidious foe may
be an unobserved inmate of their • clayey houses”
even while they imagine themselves secure from
t, attacks, teaching them that the great secret inthe
ait of preserving heilth is to pluck, out the disease
When in the bid te, and not wait tiil the full grown
ear.
This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
to youi unfeigned gratitude, and the gratitude of a
world.for the invention ol his matchless Sanative,
—whose healing hat may justly claim for it such a
title, since it lias so signally triumphed over our
great common enemy, /* Consumption, both in
the first and last stages, —a medicine which has
thoroughly filled the vacuum in the Materia Medica,
and thereby proved itself the jj’ Conqueror of Phy
s/:: iansTfd —-a medicine, for which all mankind
will have abundant cause to bless the beneficent
hand c-f a and Providence, —a medicine whose
wondrous virtues have been so glowingly pouGray
ed even by s>me of om clergy, in their pastoral
visits to tee sick chamber ; by which means they
often become the happy instrumentsofehangingde
spoading into hope, sickness into health, and sad
of friends into joyfulness

GOE LICK FAS MATCIILESS SANATIVE,
A medicine of more va.ue to man than the vast
mines of Austria, or even the united treasures of
our globe, —a medicine, which is obtained equally
from the vegatable, animal and mineral kingdoms,
and tiius possesses a three-fold power,—a medicine,
waich, thougn designed as a remedy for consump
tion solely, rs possessed of a mysterious influence
over many diseases of the human system, —a medi
cine. which begins to be valued by physicians, who
are daily witnessing its astonishing cures oi many
whom they had icsigned to the grasp of the lima- |

A certificate from three members of the Medical \
Profession in Germany, in Europe.
We, tiie undersigned, practitioners ol medicine I
in Germanv, are well aware that, by our course, j
we may forfeit the friendship of some of the facul
ty. but not of it* benevoient members, who are un
influenced by se fish motives. Though we shall |
refrain fiom an expression of our opinion, eitliei
of the soundness or unsounduess oi Dr. woelick s |
new doctrine we are happy to say that we deem
hi* Sanative too vahia.de not to be generally
known—so; what our eyes beliold and our ears
hear- we must believe.
We nerchy sta e, that when Dr. Louis OfFcn
Goclick tirst came before the German public, as |
the pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt, believing and openly pronouncing bimto be
a base impostor d the prince ol quacks. But, on
hearing so much said a.tout the Sanative, against it
a I for it, we were induced, iioin motives oi curi
sl» merely, to make trial ol its reputed virtues j
upon a number of our most hopeless patients; and •
we now deem it our bounden duty (even at the j
expense of sell-interest publicly to acknowledge
its efficacy in curing nut only consumption, hut j
other fearful maladies, which we have heretofore
believed to be incurable. Our contempt for the i
discoverer of this medicine was at once swallowed
up ia our utter astonishment at these unexpd ted
results; and, as amends for cur abuse of him, we j
do frankly confess to the world, that we believe
him a philanthropist, who does Honor to the proles- j
sir n, and to our country, who h gave him birth.
The recent adoption of this medicine into some !
o our European hospitals, is a suiiicient guaranty
that it performs all promises. It needed not our !
cstimoay, for wherever it is used it is its own oest

treatment ol Heniia or Rupture, by means of these
u.slly celebrated taslrumcnts. 11c has now used

he could name several persons who have been radi
cally cured, of tiiis truly distressing and dangerous
affection, by the used these Trusses, besides many
others who arc in a fairway of being entirely re
lieved. The following is the language of the com
mittee of the Fhiladelpiiia Medical Society on the
Radical Cure of Hernia.
“ The instruments of Dr. Chase have effected
the permanent and accurate retention of the in
testines in every case of Hernia observed by the
committee, without material inconvenience to the
patient, and often under trials more severe than
are usually ventured upon by those who wearother
trusses; trials tiiat wmmd be imprudent with any
other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ The committee are induced by the foregoing
conclusions to recommend, in strong terms, the in
struments of Dr. Chase to the confidence of
the profession, as the best known means of me
chanical retention in hernia, and as furnishing the
highest chances of radical cure.”
The following is from the Southern Medical and
Southern Journal, published in ur own city.
“ All must admit of the radical cure ot hernia,
and that Dr. Chase’s Trusses are decidedly the best
yet invented to effect the object.”
Persons from a distance can have the instruments
applied, upon application at the office, and all ne

ANTi-BALSAMJC GONORRIKEAL SOLUTION,
Warranted to cure in Five Days.
> r | HIS incomparalfle and invaluable remedy so
i * long known, and used with such nnparrallcled
- success in the Canadas for the last 30 yeats, ap
pears to need no panegyric. Its operation upon the
i human system is such that it in variably acts like
- a charm, for the relief and radical cure of a certain
i common and disagreeable ‘‘ills the flesh is heir to.”
This prize btains its own name from the certain
- success hich has attended it through al! of its
i trying c cumstances, namely, “five days,”—the
I same su .ess which followed it in a Northern lati
r ; tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula
- j or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
! and hazard by M Cheveres, from the celebrated
| Indian Chief Wabenothe, or Great Moon, whilst
; i he, with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
-1 j siness in the North-west with the Indians.—
; ; Wabcnoshe prized highly' and use it with invariable
i success throughout his two tribes. Its known and
1 valued virtues have already enriched to an almost
incredible extent the children of this warlike prince,
not only by actual sale of the article itself to in
i dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
‘ Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com
l position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
free to use it in their respective tribes, which
, places it in the hands of every' Indian who rely
. with, 1 may say, religious confidence on its cura
. : Lie powers
, 1 Below is a copy of the translation as near as it can
i be anglisized of the deed given by r Wabenoshe, to
M. Clicvcret, when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the thief himself through
. | tiie tedious manipulatory process of manufacture
Few white men would credit the length of time
which i- consumed in preparing the article for im
mediate use.

assertion, that copious diuresis and reduction of in-

The mo-t peculiar virtue of the “Cinq Jours,”
