The Greatest ofi Human Benefactors
Citizens of North and, South America,
To Louts Uffon Gosucke, M. D., of Germany,
f Europe,j belongs the i.nperishab.e honor of adding
a new and precious dtjC trine to the science of medi
cine —a doctrine which, though vehemently opposed
oy many of the faculty, which he is a valuable
member,) he proves to be s well founded in truth
as any doctrine of Ho'.y VV rit—a doctrine, upon the
verity of which are s impended the lives of millions
of our race, and which he boldly challenges his op
posers to refute, viz: ‘Consumption is a disease al
ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis Vitae
(or Life Principle) of the human body: gQ*often
secretly lurking in the system for years before
here is the least complaint of the Lungs D —and
which may be as certainly, though nut so quickly,
cured, as a common ce dor a simple headache. An
invaluably preck*.*.. doctrine this, a* '* imparts an
important lesson to the apparently healthy of both
sexes, teaching them that this insidious foe may
be an unobserved inmate of their •* clayey houses”
even while they imagine themselves secure from
its attacks, teaching tlcm iiM the great secret in the
ait of preserving health is ta pluck. out the disease
token in the blade, and not wait till the fail grown
ear.
This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
to yom unfeigned gra tstu • and the gratitude of a
world, for tae invention of his matchless Sanative,
—whose liealing hat may justly' claim for it such a
title, since it has so signally triumphed over our
great common enemy, > y Consumption, both iu
the first and last stages,—a medicine which has
thoroughly filled the vacuum in the Materia Medica,
and thereby proved its): if the Conqueror of Phy
sic medutue, io. which all mankind
will have abundant cause to bless the beneficent
hand of a kind Providence, —a medicine whose
wondrous virtues have been so glowingly pourtray
ed even by s.»me of our clergy, iu their pastoral
visits to tee sick chamber ; by which moans they
often become the happy instruments of changing de
sponding into hope, sickness into health, and sad
of friends into joy fulness

QOEUCKE’S MATCHLESS SANATIVE,
A medicine of more value to man than the vast

over many diseases of he human sys tem, —a medi
cine, which begins to L ; valued by physicians, who
are daily witnessing ii > astonishing cures oi many
whom they had resignd to the grasp of the insa

Profession in Cyrmauy, tn. Europe.
We, the undersignetl practitioners of medicine
.n Germany, are weii {ware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of so me of th* facul
ty, but not of its bem:v>|,entmemuers, who are un
influenced by se fish mitives. Though we shall
refrain from an expression of our opinion, either
of the soundness or un|oundness* of Dr. ooelick’s
new doctrine we are flippy to ssay that we deem
his Sanative too valuable not to be generally
known—for what our l:yes be Iso 1 J and our ears
hear, we must believe. |
We nereby sta e, tfat when Dr. Louis Often
Goelick first came uefile the German public, as
the pretended discovered of a new doctrine and a
new medicine, we him. in the highest con
tempt, believing aiidop*nly pronouncing him to be
a base impostor • d of iquacks. Hut, on
bearing so much said abj ut the Sanative, against it
nd for it, we were indired, from motives of curi
sit merely, to make tiial of its reputed virtues
upon a number of our n*«t hopeless patients; and
we now deem Lt our himvien duty (even at the
expense of self-in publicly to acknowledge
its eilkacy in curing nyt only cou sumption, but
other fearful mala lies, vhich we ha ve heretofore
believed to be incun.b|e. Our con tempt for the
discoverer of this medicine was at ovice swallowed
up in our utter astonislfnent a t these unexpected
results; and, as amends<or ov r abuse of him, we
do frankly confess totl’*wo/Td, that we believe
him a philanthropist, who doe s honor to the profes
siin, and to our country, whi-rh gave him birth.
The recent adoption cif tl as medicine into some
o our European hospitals, i s a suiticient guaranty
that it performs all prolotses. It needed not our
e*timony, for wherever U is used it i> its own best

HERMITAGE EXTRACT.—This lately in
vented comnina.ion of delightful odors, has
atquireda just popularity, not only by reason ol
the strength and delicacy, but of the extract dina

many other extracts and essences is almost as eva
nescent as the bloom of the flowers from which
they are derived, t* e Hermitage retains its fra
grance for au in efini e length of line, and is
scarce to be removed from the garment on which it
is poured, by washing; hence it is probably the
