RICHMOND ACADEMY.
THE Trustees ofthe Academy of Richmond
county will, on the last Saturday in Decern
ber next, proceed to elect the following Teachers
and Officers for the term and space of twelve
months, from the time of appointment, to-wit. —
A Rector, with a salary of Eight Hundred Dol
lars, and half of the Tuition money.
An English Teacher, with a salary of Five
Hundred Dollars, aud one half of the Tuition
money.
A Teacher for the Sand Hills, without salary,
but with the use of the House and Lot at the
Sand Hills, the Teacher to receive the whole of
the Tuition money.
A Teacher of Modern Languages, with a sal
ary of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars, and the
whole of the Tuition money—the price for in
struction to be Eight Dollars per quarter.

Market whenever they possess interest;

have established a very valuable correal
pondence, wiih all the principal commer
cial cities in ihe world. They have 4
swift sailing schooner, built in Baltimore
expressly for them, besides row boats, the
whole maintained at an anaual expense
of more than four thousand dollars, ana
devoted exclusively to their use, by whied
ships are frequently boarded at the dis
tance of>fifty, aud sometimes one hund
red miles from ihe city. AH ihe arrange
ments es the establishment are upon tho
most liberal scale of expense, end possess
uu efficiency which constitutes the Jour
of Commerce, issued es it is, twice a day;
decidediy (he best channel of news, both
Political and Commercial, which can be
found iu this city. Full accounts of news
received by foreign arrivals at this port
are frequently seut off twenty-four hours
before the Merchants’ letters by the Same
vessels are placed in (he Post-Office.
In the present critical state of the
markets, which there is every reason to
believe will continue at least for some
mouths, merchants throughout the coun
try wilt find this the cheapest and most
complete correspnadeuco which can pas
siblv bo established.

ing, the Morning Edition is forwarded ;

WHEREAS much inconvenience has been ex
perienced in this Slat*, from the difficulty of ob
taining testimony of (h# ages of persona interest

whereas embarrassing difficulties frequently im
pede correct administration of Justict an ibM
subject—For remedy whereof:
HE it enacted by the Senate and House of Rs

rural assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by
the authority of the same, That from Sod imme
diately slier the pauing of this act, it fhali be'
made the duty of tht Clerk* of th* Courts of Or
dinary in each County respectively, to enter aa<!

the names of all pe-ton* who may report them
