Mexico-—Will Napoleon With
draw the Fubnch Troops.—The In
dependence Beige contains tho following
significant article :
Tho Cabinet of the Tuilerios, while
making reserves as to tho right of a State
to go to the assistance of its allies, has re
plied to the American Government that
it has taken into serious consideration the
objections made by Mr. Seward on tho
subject of the prolonged occupation of
Mexico by the French troops, and espe
cially against sending out fresh reinforce
ments. The evacuation of Mexico may
therefore bo looked upon as a thing deci
ded on in principle. Little matters it
whether tho resolution of the French
Government has been determined by the
observations of the Cabinet of Washing
ton or by private considerations. What
authorizes the belief that the execution of
the measure decided on will soon be com
menced, is that Marshal Bazaino, who
was about to let a residence ho possesses
in Paris, bas countermanded his order.
From that fact it would seem that tho
general-in-chief of tho French army in
Mexico appears to expect to return to
Paris shortly. In addition to the consid
erable savings which tho evacuation of
Mexico willI>rocuro to the French treas
ury, a further reduction of twelve mil
lions in the war budget is announced.
Tho Herald’s special says thero aro two
mysterious personages, said to be from
Richmond, incarcerated in the Old Capi
tol Prison, and the officers and attachees
of tbo prison are forbidden to hold verbal
communication with them.
Tim Huntsville (Ala.) Advocate, of the
Ui’.h instant, says: "The Memphis and
Charleston Road is now completed through
to Memphis and daily trains aro running
—a transfer by steamboat taking place at
Decatur. The bridge across tho Tennes
see there is under contract, and will be
linished a* soon as possible.”

If there arc any ladies or gentlemen in the
