THE KNOXVILLE STRIKE.
M) Alin .WJII'SiT YET.
Knoxville, Nov. G.—There has been
no adjustment between the Tenneusce

the striking employers. The company
got a train of iiftcon loaded freight oars
from Knoxville to Bristol to-day, it being
tbo first freight moved on the line from
Bristol to Chattanooga, a distance of 242
miles, in six days. The company still
rofuscs to receive freight. The strikers
made no altcxipt to stop the train, but
sent a committee of their men on the
engine to prevent the company's master
mechanic, who was acting onginoer, from
placing any non-society engineer in
charge of the ongino.
Tho mail trains run regularly. The
men are quiot but determined, aud tbo
Company is Arm. The directors met this
evening and adopted unanimously the
following resolutions:

Vice-President, dated October JOtb, re
ducing the salaries and wages of tho offi
cers and employees of the Company was

tho Superintendent and Vice President
tho right to regulate wages, his ap
pointees and subordinates conceding full
and perfect right to employees, except
decline tho terms proposed.
The Knovville and Ohio K. K. em
ployees having struck against the reduc
tion of wages, the company has tempora
rily ceased all trains.
Tho representatives of twenty Southern
railroads met at Chattanooga aud unani
mously adopted resolutions, offering
justice to any reasonable reduction of
wages by the companies, and rocog-
niziug the right of any omployee
to refuse to work for tho wages
offered, condemning in the strongest
terms ns unjustifiahlo and indefonsiblo all
combinations for tho purpose of resisting
tho rightful authority of any company
by interfering with, or attempting to
intimidate or injure, others willing to
work for wages offered ; pledging each
other in no ease to employ any one dis
charged ou account of insubordination or

ethers who are willing to work, and !o
