that Senator Perry is apparently doing
well and his case progressing favorably.
—Cnpt. J. II. Ilanter, who was so se
verely wounded by negroes, on election
day, in Quitman, is said to bo improving.
—The Savannah Advertiser says that
the Grangers have sent about ono hun
dred bales of cotton to that port to be
sent to Liverpool.
—Judge Weams, of the City Court of
Macon, lined a man fifty dollars and ooRts,
ou Wednesday, for whipping his wifo.
