said “That Onoal, the candidate for Pro

made most strenuous exertions in behalf
of the negro ticket.”
This paragraph no doubt refers to tho

He and Mr. Scarborough took the posi

The Remittee of tho Democrats of Mmoom

It was mentioned in the “Georgia
News,” published Wednesday, that the
Democrats of Macon would vote for a
nomination for Mayor of Macon on
Wednesday, and that the oontest had been
narrowed down to the present incumbent,
W. A. Huff, sod Col. T. G. Holt, all the
other candidates retiring in favor of the
latter. A private dispatch received yes

competitor out of a fall vote polled. The
eleotion does not occur until some time in
January. Ublf moat be popular in Macon;
but we doubt whether a majority of tho

The ghastly record of deaths that
result irorn pulmonary affections Is frightful.
There Is no disease that is so Insldaous In Its
attack as consumption. By the neglect of
“slight colds*’ they soon becomo deep seated
and defy remedies which, ir applied at the out
set, would have averted all danger.
TuU'e Expectorant has proven Itself
moat valuable Lung Balaam ever
discovered. A dletlngalshed clergy
man of Now York pronouuoes it tho “great
est blessing of tho nineteenth eentury,** and
says “no family should be without it." It Is
pleasaut to tho taste, and a single dose will
often remove the most obstinate cough. Office
