marked aromatio odor, resembling a mix
tui* of turpentine and eamphor. Tha
leaves contain largely an essential oil. It
eoataina an alkaloid whioh ia already oall-
ed “boldine.’’ Its properties are ehieffy
aa a stimulant to the digestion and having
n marked aotion on the liver. It* action
waa discovered rather accidentally—thus
