A dispatch under dale of the 25th, from
Fort Snclling to the Government, states th t

demands, and were for the present quiet,

The sales of the week embrace 1,500
bales. The market in the meanwhile lias
advanced J a :jc. flood middling and mid
dling fair 15 a 15jc. The decrease in re
ceipts at all the ports amounts to 578,000
bales, and the decrease in foreign exports to
190.000 bales.

Sales of cotton amounted to 1,000 bales,
at stiffer rates. Middling is quoted at llj
a 15e. Receipts to-day 50 bales. Sterling
Exchange is quoted at 9 j per cent premium
