twice in the abdomen, which resulted in her
death yesterday morniug, as stated. It was
not supposed at flint that Mrs. Callahan was
so severely injured, and a physician was not
called in to see her until Thursday morniug.

Coroner Mackall was duly notified ol ibe
death, and with the assistance of Lieut. C*d-
wallader yesterday morning, procured the fol

VIEWING THE BODY.
The jury proceeded to the house where the
deceased lay and viewed the body previous to
hearing the testimony. The corpse was on u
bed in the back room in the third story of the
house, which had been oecnpied by the de
cs ised when living. The room had no car
pet upon the floor, and contained, beside tbe
bed, a snfall cooking stove, two or three
chairs, an old trunk or two, and some rude-
iooking pictures.
