PATENT STEAM
FEATHEK RENOVATOR,
For Health and Economy.
FINHE subscribers having purchased the right of
the PATENT FEATHER DRESSER, for
this State, would respectfully inform the citizens
of Augusta and vicinity, that they have one of said
Machines in successful operation in Centre street
adjoining the Steam Corn .Vlill.
'The work is done entirely by the operation of
Steam, no fire coming near the Feathers, and no
possibility of scorching or otherwise injuring them.
By this operation all moths are destroyed and re
moved, without loss or waste of Feathers; on the
contrary, the bulk is very much increased, many
times one half, —nothing being removed but small
particles of dust, Ac. They are al-o cleansed and
purified from all disagreeable smell that often at
tends Feathers, and are entirely cleansed anddried,
and have the appearance and essential qualities of
New Feathers.
They would invite all house-keepers, and those
who prefer sleeping 011 pure and soft beds—who
study health and economy, to try, and prove the
Steam Feather Renovator.
All persons are invited to call and see the ma
chine and its operation, and be convinced of its
utility.
N. H —The inhabitants of the city can, by noti
fying the subscribers, have their beds taken from
their dwellings and returned the same day, well
dressed and ready for immediate use, at 8 cts. per
pound; or if they choose to send them in, the price
1 will be but 7 cents, they washing their own ticks.
People from the country can, by bringing their
beds in early in the morning, usually have them
the same day.
Any peison that will try the experiment, may
send them a bed or beds, of any quality of Feathers,
from the best and newest, to the oldest and poorest
1 they have, provided they ate either Geese or Duck
Feathers, and may be assured, no charge will be
made, in any case, unless perfect satisfaction be
• riven. DANIEL ALEXANDER,
WILLIAM H. SPECK.
Miuledoevillf, Ga., Oct 21, 1839.
We the subscribers hereby certify that we have
> tested the operations of the Steam Feather Reno
r vator, and from the effect it had on our feathers,
we are fully convinced of its utility; it destroys
the moths, cleanses the feathers, and causes them
to expand with elasticity. We most cheerfully
j recommend it to ail those who love health and
comfort, as they, no doubt, will consider that the
expense of having their beds renovated will be
money well spent.
