bers of the Class of2021 re
ceived their diplomas and
are now high school gradu

Chief Holder Reports A Busy Week
For The Reynolds Police Department

June Term Of
According to Reynolds Police
Chief Lonnie J. Holder, the
Reynolds Police Department
had a busy week, with arrests
made for shoplifting, drug of
fenses, and traffic violations.
On May 18th, Cpl, Sean
Humphrey was dispatched to
Hometown Beverage Store, in
reference to someone stealing
a bottle of cognac, valued at
$6,99, The store owner, Mr.
Patel, slated that a male came
into the store around 5 p.m.
and placed a bottle in his front
pants pocket, while walking to
the cooler. The male walked
out of the store and drove off in
a gray Chevrolet Imp ala.
Officer Clifford Albritton and
Lt, Chris Gillespie retrieved
video footage, and on May 23rd,
Officer Albritton was station
ary on GA Hwy. 96 observing
traffic, when he observed a
gray Chevrolet Imp ala with a
Florida tag that matched the
vehicle in which the shoplifter
left the store on May 18th.
The subject pulled mto Home
town Beverage Store parking
lot, and Mr, Patel identified the
subject that took the liquor out
of the store.
Officer Albritton asked the
subject if he possessed a
Florida or Georgia driver’s li
cense and was told that the
subject's license was sus
pended,
Michael Anthony Johnson, a
63 year old male, admitted that
he took the liquor. He was ar
rested and charged with Shop
lifting and Driving With a Sus
pended Driver's License.
Johnson was transported to the
Taylor County Jail,

On May 21st, Cpl, Humphrey
responded to a call at Fort
Wayne Rest Stop, in reference
to a vehicle that had wrecked
into the side of the building.
Once on the scene, Cpl,
Humphrey observed that the
vehicle was actually in the
parking lot of the Reynolds
Quick Stop convenience store.
It w r as apparent that the ve
hicle had been wrecked. Both
front tires were missing, with
only the rims remaining, and
the air bags were deployed.
Two males were occupying the
vehicle, with a dog in the
driver’s lap. Both males were
unconscious, but breathing.

McDonald, Grand Jurors have
been drawn for the June term
of Taylor County Superior
Court. All jurors are to report
to the Taylor County High
School Auditorium on June 14,
2021, at 9:30 a.m, Jurors arc
reminded that no purses or
weapons are allowed in the
auditorium during court. Also,
please contact the Clerk’s Of

“Critter Fixers: Country Vets” Films
At Cold Creek Ranch In Taylor County
National Geographic Wild's "Critter Fixers: Country Vets” was in the county over the week
end, filming an episode at Cold Creek Ranch, on Crossroad School Road in Taylor County.
Cold Creek Ranch is owned by Tom and Betty Davis. The episode focused on the farm’s
cattle and will air during the show’s third season. Currently, the show is in its second
season, which began airing May 22nd. “Critter Fixers; Co tin tty Vets” is a reality show

The Taylor County News Calendar Girl for May is Katie
Parker. Katie is a 2021 graduate of Taylor County High
School and attends Ideal Baptist Church . She plans to
attend South Georgia Technical College to pursue a Busi
ness Technology degree. Katie is the da lighter of Kim Parker
of Reynolds and Ricky Parker of Butler. She has two sis
ters, Heather Shekee and Amanda Parker. Her grandpar
ents are Bruce and Dorothy Parker of Butler and the late
Horace and Katie Nell Edmonson of Reynolds. The Calen
dar Girl is a monthly feature of Taylor County High School
and The Taylor County News, Calendar Girls are chosen
based on academics, extracurricular activities, personal
ity, and character.
Mr. May
Derrick Darnell Carson, Jr. has been named The Taylor
County News Calendar Guy for May. Derrick is a 2021
Honor Graduate of Taylor County High School, where he
was a member of the JROTC Drill Team, Raider Team,
and Exhibition Team, competing in one State Drill Compe
tition and two Regional Drill Competitions. He also com
peted in the Academic Bowl and Leadership Bowl and was
an FFA Officer and member of Beta Club and the Blood
Drive Committee. He was Company Commander of BCG
during the 2019-2020 school year and was named Best
Personality Senior Superlative. He plans to attend South
Georgia Technical College to complete the Culinary Arts
Degree Program. He also plans to attend business school
in pursuit of opening his own catering business and res
taurant. Derrick is the son of Derrick Darnell Carson, Sr.
of Reynolds and Lucy Diann Tr'outman Corson of Butler.
He has a brother.; Steven Troutman. His grandparents are
Everett Carson of Reynolds and Fannie Mae Carson of
Howard. The Calendar Guy is a monthly feature of The
Taylor County News and Taylor County High School. Cal
endar Guys are chosen based on academics, extracurricu
lar activities, personality; and character.
