"We're not going to jump in and
get burned," said Worrall of recy

make sure it is done right, without
necessitating new taxes. When
Perry begins its recycling project it
will be a "well planned activity."
The synchronization of the
downtown traffic signals generated
"more phone calls than any one
thing." Worrall pointed out that
shortly after the computer was in
stalled to synchronize the lights, it
began to fail due to being struck by
lighting, however, he said "it is
working now."

jobs." Worrall said "I think they
are coming."
Jobs will be a spin-off of the
City's pursuit of economic devel
opment. According to Worrall, "we
have worked to hard for it not to
come to pass."
The perimeter road by-passing
Perry from 1-75 to Hwy 341 South
should be open in 1991. According
to Worrall that will "solve some
traffic problems," by eliminating
some of the downtown truck traffic.
The road will also be "a catalyst
to economic growth," said Worrall.
He believes business will locate
along the road.
