somewhat. The brutality of the troops
has been curbed to some extent.
Efforts are being made to repair the
damage wrought by the rioters. A1
though the situation lias Improved, the
danger Is by no means over. Thou
sands of peasants are still marching
over the country burning estates and
attacking landlords.
In the military zones Into whidh the
revolted districts are divided a system
of “drives” has been adopted similar :
that practiced by the British troops In
the South African war.
Persons found looting or setting fire

Great numbers of arrests have been
made by the troop*, more than three

When fall arrives, Fulton county's
new court house will In all probability
b* well under way. The county cnm
mission era have fully decided to tear
down the old structure, which Is en
tirely Inadequate, and this work will
probably start In the near future.
The new court houae will cost about
3300,000, and It will be built on all the
(round of the court house site, not In
cluding the annex, and this will give a
building considerably larger than tho
present one.
It wilt require about six months'
time to survey, sub-divide and sell off
the alms houae property at Buckhead
and this sale will net the county some
thing like 3150,000. To provide for the
balance of the money necessary to bull.l
the new court house the commissioners
will levy a small tax.
