IMP OF DREAMS.
Imp of Dream*, when *he'« a*leep.
To her snowy chamber creep,
And straight whisper In her ear
What, awake, she will not hear—
Imp of Dreams, when she's asleep.
Tell her, so she may repent,
That no rose withholds Its scent,
That no bird that has a song
Hoards the music summer-long—
Tell her, so she may repent.
Tell her there’s naught else to do.
If tomorrow's skies be blue,
But to come with civil speech.
And walk with me to Hampton Beach—
Tell her there's naught else to do!
Tell her, so she may repent—
Imp of Dreams, when she's asleep.

IN MEN'S WORK,
Married women, of course, have al
ways done their share of the world's
work. Indeed, It Is open to argument
whether they have not done more than
their fair shure of It. It Is doubtless
true that If upon men. as we now
know them, were euddenly developed
the burdens of child-bearing and child
rearing, to say nothing of the cares of
the household, families would be con
siderably smaller than they now are.
It Is certain that married women, who
have discharged the duties of materni
ty, linvo never been "supported” by
men In any Just sense of the word
'support." Nay. If all men. married
anil single, were to labor every' hour of
the day, they could not do nil the work
of the world. A few worthless women,
married or single, there may be, but
even they are not so much supported
by the men of their families as by the
overwork of the "sweated" women at
