A pleasant event of Thursday was a
luncheon at the Capital City Club Jn
honor of visitors In the city, Mr*. Vail
and Mis* Vail, of Boston.
Mrs. W. T. Gentry and Mr*. J. Epps
Brown were Joint hostesses at the
luncheon and ten guests were enter
tained.
The luncheon table w-as adorned with
a large vase of pink roses, and the

blue satin, It* deep yoke and sleeves of
fillet luce. The little bolero of spangle*
and gold embroidery, showed a Frenchy
touch of pink, and tho full skirt wa*
made with tucks and trimmed with
fringe. With this gown wa* worn a
corsage bouquet of violets and lilies of
the valley.

McKey and Mi** Susie Converse, two
of the moat prominent young people In
thl* city, were united In marriage at
the home of the bride’s parent*, Mr.
and Mr*. Thomas Brlgg* Converse,
Wednesday afternoon-at 4 o'clock, the
occasion being a most brilliant one.
Rev. Richard Wallace, of the Christian
church, performed tho ceremony.
The elegant Converse home, on* of
tho largest and handsomest in southern
Georgia, was lavishly nnd tastefully
decorated In green and white, with my
riad* of electric bulb* among the smt-
lax, fern* nnd flower*.• Mr. Wilburn
McKey, brother of the groom, acted a*
best man, while Ml** Edith Converse,
sister of the bride, wa* inald of honor.
There were no other attendant*. Lit
tle Misses Harriet and Annabel Con
verse, Caroline Rose, Sadie Tillman,
Marie Dasher and Clyde McKey Were
the flower girls. A large number of
friends and relative* witnessed the
marriage.
An Inforipnt reception followed the
ceremony, and after delicious refresh
ments had been served the bride and
groom left at !> o’clock for - various
Florida resorts, where they will spend
three weeks.

The Alabama Daughter* of the
American Revolution met at Athens,
Ala., on Wednesday In annual confer
ence. The session* are held In the li
brary of Athens college, whose presi
dent, Mlsa Mary Moore, 1* an active
gnd valued member of the hostess
chapter.
Prominent among the visiting ladies
are Mr*. J. Morgan Smith, of Birming
ham, former state regent, and at pres
ent one of the national board. While
in Athens Mr*. Smith Is the guest of
Mrs. Henry Martin. A charming vis
itor to the conference from Tennessee
Is Mr*. Jennie P. Dozier, of Franklin,
state historian of the Tennessee L\ D.

The delegates to the conference were
tendered an Informal reception Tues
day evening by the state regent, Mrs.
A. P.- McClellan, and her sister*. Mrs.
