DAILY COTTON LETTER,
New York, July !0.—Foreign cables
were weak this morning, and together
with better weather forecasts for the
belt, caused an easier tone to the New
York market.
Our market opened 9 to 7 point, down
and continued under pressure up to
noon. There seemed to be quite a large
lot of cotton for sale, with but few
takers.
While there was some activity from
the bears, the disposition won not to
be aggressive, th. bulk of the trade
seeming content to hold off and await
developments. Crop reports continue
mixed, but sentiment on the floor ap,
pears to be against the market, It being
the general belief that th. crop I. pro
gressing nicely In most localities.
On th. other hand, the bulla’claim
that ahould hot, dry weather follow the
recent ralno, the aappy condition <t- the
plant will cause it to shed badly.
