members of the legislature to make the
race for railroad commissioner to sue-
ceed Joseph M. Brown.
Mr. Mitchell has been In the lower
bouse for several terms and la known
for his conservatism In public af
fairs. He has attracted especial at
tention from hie knowledge of parlia
mentary law and has won a number of
battles on the floor of the house.

was struck Monday night by an auto
