GINNER’S REPORT

... jys:
census report was a sensation. There can
be no doubt almut that. Whether It
ongbt to have l>eeii one la another matter.
Opinions differ widely ns to that. But the
query suggests Itaelf to many: If the gin
ning could !*• so large, In spite of the re-
cent laid weather, may It not be uocfasnry
to raise tho estimates of tbe crop to 12,-
500,000 bales minimum? The answer wns

seemingly also by spot interests, large re
ceipts nnd a. statement by the Nutlonal

October 19 was 4,700,000 bales. Bulls pooh-
pooh the report aa something that means
really, nothing, since; It Is Impossible, to
determine just what percentage of the crop
has been ginned. Crop estimates on the
basis of the report ranged generally from
12,000,*000' to 12,000.100, with some extreme
figures at both ends. It will take a good
deal of overselling or'some really bad news
to advance prices materially.'’
