Dr. Wrbit'cr.
By the card of this gentleman in another col

and may he consulted at his rooms, at the Globe
Hotel. The Doctor has, we understand, effected
several cures of long standing cases of Falsie
and Rheumatism, and we have no doubt those a
boring under these, and other painful
w ill find relief, on application to him.

Y c would call attention of those afficted, to
the card ot Hr. Banning, in this day's p«pcr, who
wil! remain in this city one or two weeks. The
Doctor brings with him many testimonials from
high sources, ot reliet obtained from the use of
his Body Braces, and as lie iias givo-n,gratuitous
ly, public lectures in several cities he has visited,
on the beneficial results of their use, we hope he
will be called on, while here, to do timsame.
The subjoined letters placed in our hands bv
i)r. Banning, will explain the nature and extent
of his eminent skill in his profession.
Washington, Deer. 11, 184(1.
Otar .Sir:—With great pleasure I bear testi
mony to the efficacy of your invaluable “Lace.”
1 commenced wearing one in June last, at which
lime 1 was in very feeble health, in consequence
of a severe hemorrhage of the lungs, with severe
hernmrhoids from the slightest inegularity of the
bowels, oftentimes continuing for a week, leav
ing me very feeble. \\ eckness in the back and
a most unpleasant sensation in the stomach,
shortness ot breath, difficulty of retaining my
food alter eating, 1 was obliged to be very cau
tious and not expose myselfto tfie weather when it
was in the least unpleasant, the slightest change
affecting me very seriously. r i he very day I
first put it on 1 was greatly relii ved from the
sinking, unpleasant sensation in the stomach. 1
could walk or sit without experiencing the slight- ’
est pain in t.he hack, and my chest felt as if it
was relieved trom a heavy weight, 1 could breathe 1
freely and with perfect ( ase. In a short time my
looii reused to oppress me the hemorrhoids were
relieved, and that which had caused me the
greatest solicitude, viz: bleeding at the lungs, en
tirely Ceased. _ I have not lost one drop of blood
from the Luns's since I commenced wearing the
“Lace.”
1 was also afflicted with a severe cough, which
has wonderfully improved.
So greatly have 1 improved, that many, of rny
friends, who have been absent trom the city dur
ing the past summer, hardlv recognized me on
theirrelurn. 1 have gained in flesh, have a good
appetite, and am able to eat food of am descrip- !
tion that a well and hearty man can digest. In- ,
deed I feel almost like one risen from the dead, so I
e. at lias been the change in im health. It was
believed by all that my lungs were diseased, and '
that 1 must die of consumption. Such was the |
belief of one ot my physicians, if not of others '
And 1 must firmly believe that many who die of
pulmonary affections, might be restored to com
parative health bv the u-eof your “Lace. ’ i now
attend regularly to my business, not losing a dav.
no matter how inclement the weather may be. J
owe you a debt of gratitude, that I feel will never
be in my power to repay.
1 hat you may long live to enjoy the blessings
of this life, will be the constant prayer of vour
friend. ' OH AS. F. POPE. ,
To Dr. Canning, of New York city.
The following from that old veteran, Com
Jones, is certainly fu 1 of interest in many points !
»d view, and not only demonstrates the utility of
support in some cases, but illustrates the great
and exit j* led power ot' the peculiar support, '
found in the*-Body Brace;”

liver since 1814, when 1 received a severe gun- i
shot would, by a musket ball which still remains ;
in the body, I have suffered much from what is
commonly termed a weak hack, and pain in the 1
b u-rt, See., so much so, at times, as to destroy ail
comfort, unless supported by an arm chair or The
like; consequently riding on horseback , or re
in lining long or. the feet w <s productive of ranch
pain. I had tried various bells, Russian and
others, all of which I found to be worse than the
disease. Finally, 1 determined to make one
wore effort in search of relief, and, as you ree.ol- j
left, called at vow! office, Broadway, New York,
in the early days of ( Ktoher of the present year,
and had one of vour braces adjusted to my both ,
on trial for a few da-ys, suffice it to say. that «J
the end ofthree days, 1 called and paid for the
brace, which 1 have worn ever since, except an
interval of two days , after my return home,
when i laid it aside, with a view to ascertain how
f*r the relief I had experienced was real or ima i
ginary.
Since I hav been wearing vaar Erat'b, I have j
been exposed to some severe and long exposures
without rest; on one occasion I left mv breakfast
table at halt past 8 o’clock, P M., rode seven or
l ight miles, alighted and re nained on ;ny feet,
walking hut little, until dark, rode hack to Wash
;ngton, just in time to m< et an evening s en
g-.gement, where 1 remained until 1 I o’clock,
without sitting down at ail, except when rid ng,
from h ilt past S, A. AL.till halt past 11, P. M.,
ami this without the slightest inconvenience at
the time or subsequently. Without the Bodv
Brace ! could not have endured half the fatigue
without great inconvenience and pain at tbetime,
and feeling the effects lor several days afterwards.
Previous to wearing the Body Brace, I was in
the habitual use of the friction brush, which I
thou gltt of great service to me, and for some vears j
supposed that J could not live without it; now i j
have laid it aside, having had no recurrence ot |
lip' symptoms which induced its use since I wore i
the Brace, and I feel warranted in saving that
not onlv has n.v abilitv to endure fatigue, been
greatly renovated, by Dr. Banning’s Brace, but
that my general health has also improved under !
its use.

Philadelphia presented the grandest and most

thousands are promenading the streets to view
the enchanting scene. The North American

Sarsaparilla.
Inflammation ot the mucous membranes, is the
result of some impression made upon tlrem by !
coiti or other causes. Hence chronic Catarrh,
i bronchitis, resulting in ofA.be pulmonary
i organs, which terminates in consumption, gas
tritis, otorrhea or running from the ears, disease
of the kidneys and ureters, all originate from an
impression first made on the mucous tissues. —
From experience in various cases, it is found that
SAND’S SARSAPARILLA, will by its cura
tive pow ers, entirely eradicate tins class of mala
i dies, as its operation is such as to cause healthy
i secretions, thereby removing the existing cause
that produces diseases.

I w istars Balsam of W ild Cherry.
This medicine, prepared by a long experienced
and skilful physician, tested and approved by a
great number of intelligent, discriminating and
j respectable persons in various parts of the country.
I is now received and with entire confidence and
with great success by those afflicted w ith pulmo
nary complaints, it is also recommended as a val
uable medicine for other diseases, such as colds,
coughs, and particularly diseases whose tendency
is to consumption. Should its efficacy continue as
it has thus far been proved in various obstinaie
cases, it will indeed be a most invaluable medicine.
