Jayne’s A<juc Pills.
A SPEEDY AND PERMANENT CURE FOR
FEVER AND AGUE, INTERMITTENT FE
VER, Ac.
In recommending these Pills to the Public, the
proprietor does not wish to make any unnecessary
or .edious perambulation, but with full directions
and a tew important remarks, he will leave the
medicine to speak for itelf, feeling that its merits
are such as will not tail to bring it into general use 5
•ndecd, he is so sanguine of the efficacy of these
Pills, lie does not hesitate to guarantee a cure in the
most aggravated cases.
By following the directions closely while taking
the preparation, its superiority over the ordinary
I onic Mixtures, Pills, Ac. Ac., will be readily dis
covered.
Being purely vegetable, free from all foreign
deleterious or mineral preparations, these Pills may
betaken with the utmost safety under almost any
circumstances. They strengthen the stomach
invigorate the system, and entirely prevent tha t '
languor aud prostration of strength which always
attends this disease.
They also p ossess a decided superiority over Qui
nine, Prussiate of Iron, Arsenic, Bonneset, aud the
numerous other perparations usually employed in
the cure of FEVER AND AGUE, in being gently
Aperient, by this means carrying themselves off
through the medium of the bowels after they have
spent their medicinal power in the stomach, thus
preventing the accumulation of those unpleasan t
symptoms that almost universally follow the applica
tion of the aforesaid medicines, which constringe the
bowels, produce congestion of the Liver, and re
main in the system to brood diseases more danger
ous than those they are employed to subvert.
Hence it is that those remedies in the majori
ty of instances only serve to suppress the disease
for a short period, while the disease still in the sys
tem is brooding new evils, and soon developes itself
in a more dangerous lorm than at first; thus the
necessity of a medicine possessing the qualities of
Dr. Jayne's Ague: Pills, that can be applied with
out the fear of experiencing those evil effects before
alluded to, and with a full confii’e ice of receiving a
speedy and radical cure of the disease.
These Pills are put up in vials containing from 28
to 30 Pills, and being thus excluded from the air,
never deteriorate or undergo any change, and if
used according to the directions, are an Infallible
Remedy for Fever and Ague, Intermittent and
R-jualtteit Fevers, An.
Prepared only by Dr. Jayne, Philadelphia, and

MOUNT EAGLE TRIPOLI.
4 REMARKABLE mineral, pronounced by
Xjl_ geologists to be a great rarity in nature, and
known to them by the name of Tripoli, has lately
been discovered in this country, although but in one
bed, of very narrow limits, all owned by the “Mount
Eagle Manufacturing Company,**’ incorporated for
the sole purpose of its manufacture.
The article is excellent for burnishing and clean
ing all finished metallic and glass surfaces, such as
gold, silver, bra*s, Britannia and steel ware, win
dow glass, Ac. Nothing has ever yet been discov
ered equal to the pure Tripoli, and the common
language of the consumer is, it is the best thing 1
ever saw. The genuine article is for sale by the
exclusive agent for Augusta. WM. HAINES.

P UUE--P 700 cotton GINS.
rspllE SUBSCRIBER respectfully informs
JL his friends and the public, that he continues lo
manufacture, at
WYNNESBORO’, COLUMBIA COUNTY,
his celebrated COTTON GINS, which, by the ad
dition of a late improvement, (Oil and Water Box
es, which far surpass Templeton Rod’s patent
boxes,) will run from TEN to FIFTEEN DAYS
perfectly free from heat, with one oiling with Lard
and Tallow. Purchasers may test a Gin by pick
ing ten bales of cotton with it. and i! it does not
please, may return it. My prices are Two Dollars
and Fifty Cents per saw for the FIRE-PROOF
GINS, and Two Dollars and Twenty-five Cents for
ihe ANTI-FRICTION. delivered at the residence
of the purchaser. A Eire-Proof Gin may be seen
at the warehouse of Andres, Speaßs A Wootten,
Augusta.
OLD GINS repaired at the shortest notice.
THOMAS WYNNE.
CERTIFICATES;
Augiistd, August 5, 1847.—We, the undersigned,
having examined a sample of Cotton said to be gin
ned by Mr. Thomas ’Wynne’s Fire-Proof Cotton
Gins, consider it as well ginned as any cotton we
have seen in this market, and with a longer staple.
We have also examined the Oil and Water Boxes,
and think them a great improvement, as the oil acts
and re-acts while running, which will keep them
free from heat, if well used.

Proof Gins ran seven days with one oiling with
Lard, free from heat.
Henry T. Hammock, IF. W. Finch,
Wm. S. Smith, | Jas. C. Adams,
Warren county, Feb. Blh, 1847, —I do hereby cer
tify that I bought a4l saw r Improved Cotton Gin
from Thos. Wynne. I have ginned from eight
hundred to one thousand pounds of clean cotton per
day, and I would recommend ail persons in want of
a first-rate Gin to purchase of said Wynne. I got
the highest market prices in Augusta.
Nathaniel Persons.
Wa ren county, Feb. Bth, 1847.—1 do hereby certil
fy that I have one of Mr. Thomas Wynne’s Anti-
Friction Cotton Gins, 51 saw s. 1 have ginned three
heavy bales per day. I have ginned three crops
with it, and think it better this last than the first
crop —taking out the moats and freeing the cotton
from nap. I have always been able to get the
highest price in the Augusta market. I recom
mend persons who want to purchase a first-rate
Gin to call on Mr. Wynne before they purchase, as
I think they w ill be well pleased with the said
Wynne’s Gins w r hen tried.
Thomas Persons.
Wilkes county, March 21, 1847.—1 certify that I
purchased last year a Cotton Gin of Thos. Wynne,
of Columbia county, and ginned my laat crop of
cotton wdth it, and I can say that it is as good as the
best Gin I ever used. cotton last year was
worse managed than it has been for many years
previous, owing to my plantation be : ng a distance
from where I live, and that attention was not paid
to the cotton that should have been. Notwithstand
ing, my cotton when carried to Augusta w as sought
for by all the cotton buyers, owing to the neatness
of the cotton and freedom from nap and moats. I
believe there is no gins in the State from which
a better sample of cotton can be shown, Carver
1 Gins not excepted.
