GALVANIC RINGS
9 I
AM)
1 I MA(4NE TI At FLUID.
! FRNHIS reruarkrtble invention, wliirii lias received I lie
3L almost universal app obutiim of ihe medical pro
fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap
plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
which the ordinary Galvanic Ba lenes, Electric and Mag
netic Machines, &c., areeicirely dispensed with, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any
of the objections which are iuseperahle from the eene
ral made now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied hy the Ala
chines, has been pronounced, as era lair and impartial
trial, to be dkcidedly injurious, and it was to reined v
this radical defect, that this new application was pro
jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, lias
been brought to its present state of perlection. The
Galvanic Kings answer all the purposes of the most
expensive Machine*, and in in my oilier respects arc
more SAFS and cluiain in accomplishing the desired
effect.
Tne Gai.v\ntc Rings, used in connection with the
.Magnetic Fluid a e confidently recommended in all
d sokdf.hs which arise from an enfeebled or un-
HEATHY STATE Os THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM,and
these complaints are among the most painful and uni
versal to wicen «e are Mihject. They arise, withontex
cepiion, from one simple cause—a derangement of the
Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other
“ remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has
been found in the proper and judicious application of
Galvanism-
The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire suc
cess in all cases of Rheum atism, acute or chronic, ap
plying to the head, face or limbs - Gout, Tic-Dolorf.ux,
, Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick
I Headache, Indigestion . Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy,
i Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the H eart, Appoplexy,
I Stiffness f Joints. Spinal Complaints, Ku mis a go,
; Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the
j Head. Pains in the Chest and Side. Gf.neral Debili
ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of
the digestive organs, they have been found equally suc
cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system
must he witucssed to be believed, and as a certain pre
ventive for the preceding complaints they arcequal
j ly recommended. The Kings are of different prices,
j being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat
, terns.aml ran be « orn by the most delicate female without
1 the slightest Inconvenience. In fact the sensation is
l rather agreeable than otherwise.
The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Banus,
t-arters, Necklaces, «Jtc.
In some cases of a very severe character and of long
j standing, the power ns applied hy the Galvanic Rings
is nut .sufficient to arrest the progress of disease and ulti
mately to restore health. The improved modification in
the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme
dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
can readily he obtained, and no complaint which the ,
mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to he
permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the
waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihe body
with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklacf.s
are used with greater benefit in rases of Bronchitis or
affections of tlie throat generally; also in cases of Ner
vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a
preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar
i complaints.
Christie's 3lasrnetic Fluid.
j Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition has been pro
| nouiiced by the French Chemists to be one of the nuts t
; extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is Tie
; lieyed to possess a remarkable power of rf.nderuig the
Nerves seiisitivk to GaLVaiuc ACTton, by these means
causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis
ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No
other composition in chemistry is known to produce the
same effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous
system by means of an outward local application. The
Alagiietic Fluid contains nothing capanle of the slight
est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless
in its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana
tions and directions accompany it. The combined in
ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; they are
at prices within rcacli of all, and fee discoverer only re
quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.
Christie’s Galvanic Ftrsnsthening Flas
kets.
These articles form another valuable application of
the mysterious influence of Galvan ism. Tiiey are an
important adjunct to the genuine Galvaiuc Riimss and
their modifications, acting ujxin the same principle, but
h ving this advantage of more local application. They
are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in
the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; iu
all nervous complaints.and as a positive remedy in cases
of Pain and Weakness i the. Client or Back, Pain in the
Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op
j pre.ssion of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com
! plaints; their effects are of the most decided character,
i aml they have often been used with c.omplet * success.
Thev are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and
Weakness of the Breast, ami are highly recommended
for many of those complaints to which lemules arc
especially liable. As an effectual means for Mreugthen- i
j ing the system when debilitated with disease or other
causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a
Preventive for Colds and in ail affections of the Chest |
generally the Galvanic Blrengti ening Plaster wili be
found of great and perinaueuiiidvautage. Ina few words,
it embraces all the virtues of the best, lonic preparation
with the important addition of the Galvanic influence,
which is neiilier impaired or exhausted, wiuletlie action
continues. These articles will he found entirely free
from those objections which are a con-da t source of com
j plaint with the ordinary Plasters iu common use.
JYTThe great celebrity and success of these articles, I
have caused them 'o be counterfeited by unprincipled
persons. To provide against imposition, Dr. Christie
has but onc"aut ’orized agent ia each city of the Union.

DR. TAYLOR’S BALSAM OF LIVERWORT.
375 Bowery. N. V.
MUST those be who have Pulmonary Consumption,
or any affection of the Lungs. Liver or Chest,
after reading die following letter, just received fn in a
in st respectable inaabiiaut of Westchester County
New Votk,
Tarrytown, Ang. 9, 1844.
Dear Doctor—lt is diffi -ultto find words to express the
gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest vou
have t:ik“u lo relieve me in my distress. In the year
1842 1 contracted a heavy cold, w hich finally settled on
my lunas; iu a tew- mouths after I commenced coughing
and raising offensive matter, which smelt very bad.
Having heard that Sherman's Lozenges were good for a
cough 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the
least cifoct on me. I then called in the best physician in the
place, who a tended me a few months, but without sue
cess; I then-saw au advertisement in one of tiie city
p ipers of Wi-star’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I
purchased three bottles, at thecorner of Fulton and Nas
l sail streets, but 1 could not perceive t- e least beneficial
| effect from it, on the contrary I think it was a great in
jury to me. Shortly alter using it I commenced raising
blood in large quantities ; i was taken dow n sick and
confined to the house for three months, during which
time 1 lost my appctiic and fi ll away very fast; 1 was
then induced to consult Dr, Curtis of New York, (one of
j the best physicians in the city,) but be could do me no
good. I again become worse, and was confined to the
I house all last winter and spring, and I gave up ail hope of
l ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and my
- cough was very severe, together with a pain iu my breast
aud under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up
all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was
the last. About this time 1 beard of your BALAAM OF
LIVERWORT- being good fur consumption , but I was
like many others, and was fearful that it might he a regu
' lar humbug; 1 however finally consented to try it, as I
thought it could make me no worse. My brother tin n
purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V.. and 1 eom
) mouced taking it, and by the time 1 had used one bottlr
full I could sleep all night, and in the morning 1 hail an
appetite for my breakfast. 1 still keep on taking it and
find great benefit from it—the pain in my breast is entire
ly gone, and I rai«e no more blood. Within the last two
months I have gained in weight six pounds and much in
i strong h. 1 would therefore advise all who have any
affec ien of the Lungs or Liver lo try the Genuine Dr.
Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for 1 truly believe it to
betlie best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs
• or Liver. Should any one doubt the above statement re
lative to yonr valuable medicine, let bim call on me, and
j I will convince them of its virtue.
Yours respectfully, C. DE REVERE.

THIS preparation of Sursaparrilla, is in most cases,

PROGRESSIVE POWER COTTON
«?• nc sea sms s -
THIS Machine is now offered to the public an
( the most durable , the most convenient, the
most powerful , (and all tilings considered,) tin
cheapest and lest Colton Packing Press in the
World.
This Press has now been in use four years—sev
eral hundreds of them are in successful opera lion.
In one that has been in use alwjut two years,
there has been packed, over fee thousand Bales of
; Cotton ! and it works heller (if possible) now, than
! when first put up. Not one dollar has been ex
pended on it in repairs—nor ever will be, if well
used.
Ail those persons who have tried them, have de
cided to keep them their life lime, and then hand
them down to their children to the third and fourth
generations. Not an individual that has seen them
in use hut what pronounces them ‘‘just the thing
1 challenge the world to disprove these state
ments. Now, can as much be said of any other
i Machine ever made? And yet Igo still further;
when required, 1 will put up the Press on the plan
tation, and if it does not answer the purpose, will
make no charge.
And again—being well aware that the planters
have but little confidence in new things, from th«
fact that nine out of ten are i- Yankee tricksin
i' tended to deceive, I have been to the trouble ami
j expense to fit up an establishment in Macon, with
several Presses, for re-packing Round Bales into
! Sq dare, and to show to the planters that the Press is
just the thing they want. These Presses are now,
and will be kept in daily use, and open to inspec
tion. Now, therefore, to induce the planter to
i make an examination, 1 give below a certificate,
, signed by a few of the many who have very kindly
offered me their names, since 1 started my Presses
in Macon.
To prevent bad work, and all sort of meddling
or tampering with the Machines, I have them all
made under my own direction, end sold at one price.
All those wishing to give them a trial, will pleasa
give their names to my Agents whofall upon them,
{ or send them to the Commission House, where
they wish to go for the Machine, in order that the
Agent may be prepared for them, otherwise they
may he delayed in getting a Machine when it is

LIVER AND DYSPEPTIC
MEDICINE.
IN offering this valuable medicine to the people
of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis
eases incident to a southern climate, 1 do not claim
for it infalibility; neither do I say it will cure all
diseases. But in Chronic Liver Affections and Dys
pepsia, I can confidently advise and recomnu nd its
use, from my personal observation and use.of the
article in my own practice. This article is favora
bly received wherever it been used. lam al
lowed to refer to .Mr. George Heard of Troup, Mr.
John Warren of Columbus,Mr. McKaflee of Cobb,
Mr. Asbury Hull of Athens, .Mr. William D. Ter
rell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of Lagrange;
to which a great number of names might he added,
who bear their testimony to its value. Dr. Henry
Branham has used this tnedjcjne in his own case,
and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as his
opinion, that it is otje of the safest and most valnar
hie medicines that can be used in imperfect diges
tion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular
state of the bowels. It is useful in bilious com
plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers,
and in sick or nervous heau-aclie. To pregnant
women, who are subject to costiveness, this medi
cine is well suited. In regulating the state of the
stomach and bowels, and promoting digesliop, it is
particularly useful.
I could append a long list of certificates, but for
bear, prefering to rely on the virtues of the medi
( cine to sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle
and certain cathartic, tonic and sudorific.
