Dual I
“Dear Sir: More than twenty years ago, I had
resided several year* in one of the principal towns
in the low country m this stale, employed in lha
practice of Physic, when, in cm of an
attack of Yellow Fever, succeeded hy a protracted
ipinnan 'ague, 1 wa* compelled to change my
residence, and aeltle in this city. My Liver and
Spleen had become enlarged, and their function*
greatly deranged. 1 had frequent and uUstinaln
attacks of Jaundice, with attendant, or perhaps
consequent Dyspcsia, in many of its dial reining
forma. Agreeable to the usual medical treatment,
different preparations of Mercury was used in con
junction with other remedies, but with the uniform
effect of producing an extensive inflamstion upon
the surface resembling Erysipelas, and known le
Physicians by the name ol Mercurial Erylbema,
I was at length obliged to abandon its use alto
gather, and total my resources fur some substitute
(or Mercury under such peculiar circinnelsncea.
After much investigation and many trials, the corn'
position of these Pill* was hit upon, and answered
my utmost wishes and ctpoctations My health
was perfectly respired, and although, since that
period, I have had four Severn attache ufhihoue fa
ver, arising from exposure to the vicissitudes of ■
southern climate, while engaged in extensive pro
lossional persuits, I have never taken one pann I*
of Mercury in any form, and still enjoy sound
health. Having subsequently, frequent occasions
to proscribe for cases of a similar character, Ime
miller a great variety of modifications, the Pill*
came into very common use in my practice, and a*
lint nlMicled are usually communicative of their
complaints and remedies, each bus contributed la
extend the reputation and use of the pills, till at
length the dumnrid for them greatly exceeds my
leisure lo supply. With regard to yonr request
for certificate* of their efficacy, I could tarnish
more than von would lie willing to publish, from
persons of both sexes, and among the must intelli

are seldom of any value beyond the immediate cir

give you two which were sent me hy Physician*,
whose integrity and professional respectability * *
sufficiently established. Beyond this, the Pill*
must rest on than own intrinsic value, lam per
sonally answerable for their composition, and for
their applicability lo the cases in which they are
recommended. They contain no Mercury nor any
other mineral; they an: purely vcffilohU. To prs
lend that they are an infallible remedy in every
stale of disease for which they are recommended,
would be Monsense; but that they have proved to
he more generally and extensively safe snd useful

acquainted, I confidently assert from ample expe
