It will ho admitted that these objects ore of the |
highest importance; and that the best and must ef
ficient means of accomplishing them are found in)
God’s word. To that word, we design in the pro
posed periodical, to direct the attention of all

vate rules of interpretation, but will use only such
as are admitted to ho correct by the enlightened of
all parties. We have no sectarian partialities or
prejudices, hut are resolved, without fear or a flec
tion, to advocate such ofthe views and so much of.

upon careful examination to he consistent with, or
authorized by, the word and testimony ol God.
Out of the present moral and religious chaos, we
will endeavor to bring that pure Gospel and 'tint
beautiful Order w hich was proclaimed and estab
