vengeance on them that know not God, and obey
not tho Gospel of his .Son; and, for tho complete
salvation of them tluat look for and love His appear
ing.
It will be admitted that these objects are of the
’highest impurmneet and ihdl the best and most ef
ficient means of accomplishing them are found in
God's word. To that word, we design in tho pro
posed periodical, to direct the attention of all
Jn ascertaining its moaning wo will apply no pri
vate rules of Interpretation, but will mb only such ‘
rsure admitted to be correct by the enlightened ol I
all parties. We have nd sectarian partialities or '
prejudices, but are resolved, witliditl fear or affec
tion, lo advocate such of the views and so much of
the order of the difforetll sects, as thall bo found,
upon careful examination lo be consistent with, or
Authorized by, tho word and testimony ol God. 1
