A few renegade Democratic snators
assisted in this betrayal of the people,
as they have in other outrages of tlie
Aldrich tariff kill. They will have to
answer for their apostasy to tkeir con
stituents some time. The day of reck
ing cannot lie evaded and opportunities
to disgrace their purty and do violence
to its cardinal principles will not last
