SSU Alumni Chapter Presents Annual
Gift for Scholarships, Other Needs
James to Speak at Hungry Club

The Savannah Chapter
of the Savannah State
University National Alumni
Association (SSUNAA) pre
sented a $15,000 gift to the
university during a campus
ceremony on July 17, 2008.
The funds are to be used for
general scholarships, athlet
ics and the music depart
ment.
“This donation repre
sents the balance of proceeds
from our very successful
Annual Ebony Fashion Fair
Show,” said Roy L. Jackson,
president of the Savannah
Chapter of the SSUNAA,
who made the presentation to
President Earl G. Yarbrough
Sr. Earlier this year, the
chapter presented approxi
mately $6,200 to cover
scholarships for six students
recruited during the fashion
show contest.
The Annual Ebony
Fashion Fair Show is the
Savannah Chapter’s major
fundraiser. The 2009 show is
scheduled to be held Feb. 8
at the Savannah Civic
Center.

community issues forum will
kick off the HCFS's Annual
Minority Enterprise
Development Month
Observance, a prelude to the
forum's Annual “Black and
Green” Marketplace.

track record that is second to
none when it comes to his
knowledge of business and
banking and how to combine

Following the keynote
address, Joseph R. Hudson,
CEO of the Hudson Strategic
Group, Inc. of Atlanta, will
present an update on the
Savannah CITIworks
Strategy Map. Over the last
few months, Hudson's com
pany, in cooperation with the
City of Savannah and local
African American civic and
business reps, developed the
empowerment initiative.
The Hungry Club is
open to the general public
and people from all walks of
life continue to benefit from
the exchange of ideas and
information, and networking
opportunities.

Law School, launched her busi

after practicing law for five
years. Through workshops and
individual coaching, she helps
unhappy lawyers find and pur
sue fulfilling work outside of
the law. “I'm delighted that I
will now have the opportunity
to reach many more lawyers
through my book,” Parker said.
