avenue. Pink and white chrysanthe

profusion In the decoration of the at

er floors of the residence being open to
the guests. A buffet supper was served
and an orchestra played during the
evening. In cutting the wedding cake

A beautiful and brilliant, occasion
among the young society contingent

day afternoon nt "The Homestead,” In
West End. The spacious home. Which
has for many years been the center
of such charming hospitality, was pro
fusely decorated with cut flowers, ferns
and foliage, white nnd yellow being
the color scheme which predominated.
Tho honor guests of the- occasion
were Miss Charles Owens nnd her
guest. Miss Rebecca Morton, of Mem
phis, nnd Miss Laura. Boyd, of Savnn-
nab, who la visiting the Misses DuBose;

courses wore served, the table, cov
ered with Ince, hod for Its centerpiece
a great howl filled with yellow chrys
anthemums. Compotes held mints nnd
bonbons In whlto and yellow, nnd the
candelabra used had yellow allk shades.
Small river vases placed here nnd there
over the table held fragrant bouquets
of violets.
On the side porch, which la encased
In glass, tho punch bowl was placed
on a round table on which rial was the
prevailing color used In decorating.
Autumn loaves nnd red rhryenntlie-
nmtns were massed about the punch
bowl, nnd bright ted peppers were used
effectively. Here Misses Corrlo Hoyt
Brown and Maty Brown presided.
During tho afternoon about two hun
dred friends called, the elaborate dec
orations of the home forming a pretty
setting for the smart toilets worn by
the callers.
