guage conveys to us so much, did we
but properly realize It. The consum
mation of the wondrous dreams of the
prophet, the answer to the aspirations
of the Idealist, the rebirth of long dead
hopes, but. more than all else. It an
nounces to us the arrival of opportu-.
silty.
"The present, ths present. Is all that
thou hast
for thy soul's sure possessing;
■Like the patriarch's angel, hold It fast
Till It yield to thee Its blessing.”
Would that we might heed this splen
did advice of the poet, and wrest from
the rspldly fleeting present the bless
ings actually » on to us by all the ex
periences of life.
