A consolidated pre-trial order in com
pliance with Uniform Rule 7.2 shall be
filed in the Clerk’s Office by January
2, 2015. Electronic filing by e-mail at

permissible and encouraged. If a
consolidated pre-trial order is not
possible for any reason, each party
must file that party’s portion of the
pre-trial order by the due date.
The attorney or the party who will be
trying the case must appear for the
pre-trial conference at the time as
signed unless specifically excused by
the court.
If the attorney or party wishes to
appear by video/audio conference
in lieu of personal appearance, he

Failure to file the party’s portion of

Court for the Civil Non-Jury Trial Cal
endar on January 14, 2015, at 9:00
A.M. in Courtroom B on the Second
Floor of the Judicial Tower, located at
556 N. McDonough Street, Decatur,
Georgia 30030. Corporations must
be represented by counsel in all
actions filed on or after June 5,
1997. Eckles v. Atlanta Techno
logy Group, Inc., 267 Ga. 801, 485
S.E. 2d 22 (1997). Counsel and
parties should appear with their wit
nesses, ready to proceed to trial at
that time. All conflicts shall be
handled as required by Georgia Uni
form Court Rule 17.1. Attendees at
the Non-Jury Trial Calendar must
have express authority to settle the
pending claim(s) and must be pre
pared to confidentially reveal the
terms of settlement to the Court.
The removal of a case for any reas
on from the Non-Jury Trial Calendar
shall be by Order of the Court only. A
Motion for Continuance must be
made in writing at least ten days be
fore trial, and an Order must be sub
mitted. If a case is settled or other
wise resolved, the parties must notify

demanded, then a party shall be
deemed to have waived the right to
trial by jury for damages pursuant to
Collins v. Jones, 197 Ga. App. 839,
399 S.E.2d 546 (1990).

(Civil Pre-Trial
Conference Calendar)
Counsel and pro se litigants in all lis
ted cases are directed to appear in
Court for the Division VII Civil Pre-tri
al Conference Calendar on January
14, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. The purpose
of this Conference is to determine the
status of the case, resolve remaining
issues, and schedule the case for tri
al. A consolidated Pre-Trial Order
will be due sixty (60) days before
trial, but the Order need not be
prepared for the Pre-Trial Confer
ence.
At the Pre-trial Conference, counsel
and parties representing themselves
must be prepared to address any re
maining discovery issues, all pending
or anticipated motions, chances of
settlement, length of trial, number of
jurors, jury pre-qualifications, and
court reporting of the case. Counsel
and parties are expected to confer,
exchange documents and resolve
any discovery disputes. Further, they
must have express authority to settle
the pending claim(s) and be pre
pared to confidentially reveal the
terms of settlement to the Court.
