Irons said he is disappointed that an ethics board advisory he sought years ago may be invalid, by Andrew Cauthen andrew@dekalbchamp.com T he developer of a proposed resort for south DeKalb announced Feb. 28 that it will sue the county. “It’s time for the truth to be told,” said Carl Mc- Cluster, executive director of the APD Solutions neighbor hood revitalization firm. APD Solutions is planning to develop a resort that would include an upscale seafood restaurant, steakhouse and tapas restaurant. Plans also call for a “barcade”—a restaurant/bar with various simulation and virtual reality games. The 10.15- acre project would have 24 fully furnished villas that will be marketed to vacationers, conventioneers, family reunions and those seeking a staycation option. APD Solutions says the project will create 150 jobs with an average income of more than $50,000. The resort was approved by the Board of Commissioners in December 2014, but after news outlets dug into the plans, commissioners learned that their vote was invalid because neither the district commissioner nor the super district com missioner representing the area voted in favor of the action.
