Four passengers and a dog were killed. The victims were identi fied as Greg Byrd and his sons Christopher and Phillip. Jackie Kulzer, the fiancee of Christopher, was also killed in a crash, along with a pet. Kulz er, a 2006 graduate of St. Pius X High School, and Christopher were engaged to be married in October. The family was headed to Oxford, Miss., for a gradua tion ceremony at Ole Miss for Robert Byrd, another of Gregs sons. DeKalb County Fire Chief Darnell Fullum said the fire department received a call at 10:11 a.m. and responded to See Crash on page15A Lee May gives up commission seat by Andrew Cauthen andrew@dekalbchamp.com After nearly two years of being the interim DeKalb County CEO and the elected District 5 commissioner, Lee May has resigned his com missioners seat. May stopped represent ing District 5 constituents as a commissioner in July 2013 when he was appointed in terim DeKalb County CEO by Gov.
