DECATUR
DeKalb County to host Senior
Olympic Games
The 32nd Annual DeKalb County
Senior Olympic Games will be held May
2 -11, for ages 50 and older. The kickoff
for the games will be 10 a.m. on May 2
at Exchange Recreation Center located
at 2771 Columbia Drive in Decatur.
The Olympic-style sports festival will
include free-throw basketball, bowling,
golf, horseshoes, track and field,
billiards, swimming, table tennis and
water volleyball. Events will be held at
various venues in the county.
Participants are encouraged to
compete as a team or enter individual
events. Gold, silver and bronze
medals will be awarded to the top
three finishers in each event. Seniors
needing special assistance regarding
transportation should call MARTA
Mobility at (404)-848-5389.

the 2018 Senior Olympics entry form
link. All applications must be submitted
to DeKalb County Recreation, Parks &
Cultural Affairs by April 27.
The DeKalb County Senior Olympic
Games, which is open to all residents
of DeKalb County as well as residents
from surrounding counties, is part of
National Older Americans Month, which
is celebrated in May.

DUNWOODY
Women's self-defense class
The city of Dunwoody, Dunwoody
Police Department and UFC Gym will
offer a free self-defense class April
28 at 10 a.m. for women ages 13 and
up. These classes are held monthly at
Georgetown Park at 4400 Dunwoody
Park courtesy of the Dunwoody Parks
Department. Before each class, a
Dunwoody police officer will speak
briefly about crime stats and basic
safety. Each class is 90 minutes long,
limited to 30 people per class. Register

Dunwoody Art
Festival announced
A Mother's Day tradition in Dunwoody,
the Dunwoody Art Festival will
celebrate its eighth show May 12 and
13. Dunwoody Art Festival is hosted
in Dunwoody Village with an artist
market with shopping and fun for the
entire family. Activities and features
of the festival include a 'Kidz Zone'
with rides, sand art, crafts, games, live
music and a food court with eats from
neighborhood restaurants.This event is
rain or shine, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 6
p.m. and May 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
LITHONIA
MARTA workshop on 1-20 East
corridor
Residents can learn about and provide
input on the future vision for DeKalb
County's 1-20 East corridor April 26, from
6 to 8 p.m. at Lou Walker Senior Center
in Lithonia. At the workshop, MARTA
will present an update on the project,
discuss opportunities for each station
area and brainstorm on the ideas for the
station areas. Food will be provided. Lou
Walker Senior Center is located at 2538

STONE MOUNTAIN
FODAC to host annual run, walk
'n' roll event
Friends of Disabled Adults & Children
(FODAC) will host its 18th annual Run,
Walk'n' Roll event April 28 at Stone
Mountain Park.The run begins at 8:30
a.m. and the walk/roll will start at 9 a.m.
The event will also include music, door
prizes and a continental breakfast. For

Arabia Alliance hosts 2nd annual
open house'Trail Mixer'
The Arabia Mountain Heritage Area
Alliance will host an open house May
5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its office
located at 3350 Klondike Road in
Stonecrest. Visitors are welcome to
speak with staff and board members
to learn about the people and places
that form the Arabia Mountain National
Heritage Area. Information will be
available to help explore the NHA
including the Arabia Mountain PATH
trail.

Library will host a book sale April 26,27,
