Commissioner Larry Johnson and The Heart of South DeKalb held a fundraiser event, “Coffee & Donuts for a Cop,” July 21 at Dunkin Donuts on Wesley Chapel Road. Residents and police officers came to the Dunkin Donuts to donate money and a Go Fund Me account was established with a $15,000 goal to help Price and his family. Johnson said he has known Price for a few years. “He was out there in the community policing, and now he’s a detective,” Johnson said. “You have to look out for people. You never know when you’re going to be in these situations.
