UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA.
The Summer School at. the University
of Virginia will hereafter be conducted
mainly for High School and College
Teachers of the South. This was de- i
tcrniined upon by President Alderman,
after a careful study of the needs of secondary
education in the South. The increased
resources of the University of
Virginia, which have been generously provided
for the first time, for this sori of
work, make it possible that thus advanced
training may be found in the
South. Men of professional rank have
been employed to teach the various subjects,
so that the outlook now is that a
distinguished company of teachers, both
in the faculty and among the students,
will assemble for six weeks from June
ISth to July 31st, at the great University
founded by Thomas Jefferson. Last .
session there were nearly a thousand students
from twenty-five states in attendance.
THE NACOOCHEE TRAINING SCHOOL
FOR CHRISTIAN WORKERS,
SAUTEE, GA.
By J. T. Wade.
At a conference of llie Committee of
Arrangements, recently held in Toccoa,
Ga., most encouraging reports came in
from various sources. Various matters
relative to the meetings were discussed,
and quite an elaborate program was
tentatively formulated, and the committee
are now zealously at work, perfecting
arrangements for the most successful
meeting yet had.
From those who attended the exercises
last summer we are assured that,
this occasion Is the one green spot in
their memories, and that their one hope,
and the supreme object of their ambition,
is to get to Nacoochee Valley next summer.
Our readers will please note the
change of time. The exercises will begin
July 25th, instead of August 20th,
