TEACHERS' HOME AT MONTEAGLE.
The Board of Directors of the Monteagle
Assembly, the "Chautauqua of the
South." has given a beautiful lot. near
the Auditorium, for a Home for Teachers.
The beautiful mountain scenery
and delightful climate of this place are
well known, as well as its rare advantages
for hard-working teachers. Teachers
from any state are urged to send a j
donation, of any size, to Col. W. F. Taylor,
of Memphis, Tenn., the treasurer, !
to assist in erecting this Home before j
next summer. This will entitle I hem to
board and bath in the Home for five dollars
a week. The officers of the Home
board are Mrs. M. R. Waller, Okolona,
Miss., president; Mrs. Carrington Mason,
Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. K. M. Dean. Miami,
Fia., and Mrs. J. O. Banks, Eutaw,
Ala., vice-presidents; Miss Blanche Hindr
man, secretary, and Mrs. M. H. Lewis,
Monteagle, Tenn., corresponding secretary
and solicitor. The Home will be
under the supervision of President Keble
and the Executive Board of the Assembly.

received under care of the Presbytery of j
Mississippi. Rev. A. F. LaJrd is president,
with a corps of excellent teachers.
There is a good enrollment of local patronage.
At a recent meeting of the Board of
Directors, Mr. J. J. White, of McComb,
Miss., who owns about one-half of the
stock, anl other .stockholders agreed to
donate and convey all of their, stock to
the Presbytery of Mississippi on condition
that the Presbytery raise about
$4,000 to pay ofT an indebtedness on
the new dormitory. A committee consisting
of Rev. S. C. Caldwell, of Hazlehurst,
Rev. R. V. Lancaster, of Mc- 1
Comb, and Rev. C. M. Huber, of Crystal-1
Springs, was appointed to proceed at
once to raise this sum.
The friends of the school believe that
it has a future. It is an Important and
appreciated factor in the educational and
religious progress of McComb City and
in time of South Mississippi. This is
now emphasized by the completion of
several new railroads in that portion of
the state. The Liberty-White R. R-, an
east and west line crossing the Illinois
Central at McComb, the Fernwood and
Gulf R. R? reaching within a few miles
of McComb, and the Mississippi Central,
another east and west line extending
from Natchez to Hattiesburg, crossing the
Illinois Central at Brookhayen (only 24
miles from McComb), render the College

most every part of South Mississippi. It
is hoped that the membership of Mississippi
Presbytery will lend all needed
aid in the establishment of this enterprise,
seeing that the College will thus
become absolutely the property of the
Church and in the Providence of God
may become a great agency for the ad- i
vancement of His Kingdom.
