MISS LIDA A. FIELD.
On Sunday evening, November 29, 1908,
after an illness of several months. Miss
Llda A. A-'ield, cf Atlanta, died at the
home of her brother in Dalton, Ga.
Miss Field was born at Dahlonega, Ga.,
where she lived during her girlhood. The
greater part of her life was spent in Atlanta.
There she was engaged In educational
and literary work. For eight years
she held the chair of Latin in the Agnes
Scott College, and for a number of years
ci icuiucr in me Atlanta public
schools. She exerted a wonderful influence
over her pupils, inspiring them to
thoroughness and faithfulness. While
acting as librarian of the Young Men's
Library, she always endeavored to direct
the reading of the members, especially
of the young, so as to fit them for usefulness.
and influence them for good.
Miss Field was a character of noble unselfishness.
giving her whole life to helping
others. In all the relations of life
she discharged every duty with earnestness
and fidelity. She was greatly beloved
for her sweet Christian temperment
and loving disposition. Though
quiet and reserved, she made many
friends, and time cannot efface the influence
for gocd that she exerted over all
with whom she came in sontact.
She took an active nart in bavomI
literary and historical societies, but her
greatest joy was in the service of her
Master. Early in life she gave her-heart
to her Savior, and united with the church.
For a number of years she was a consistent
member of the Central Presbyterian
church, Atlanta, Ga., where she was
an earnest and faithful worker in the
Sunday school. She was especially inteested.in
Sunday schol work and as a
teacher had few superiors. Her work
in this field was productive of much
good, and won many jewels for her
crown.
A short time after its organization she
joined the North Avenue church, Atlanta,
Ga., of which she was a member at the
time of her death, in which new field she
continued her fruitful ministrv in the
Sabbath schol.
It was In the home where her life was
most beautifully portrayed, and her gentle
influence was felt by each member of
the family. It is around the fireside
where she will ue greatly missed, but her
loved ones rejoice to know that she is
singing praises to her Savior around the
great white throne.
During her long and painful Illness,
she was never heard to murmur or complain.
When she realized that the end
was near, she called a sister to"her bedside
and sent farewell messages to each
of her loved ones. She did so with great
calmness and said, "I am so peaceful!"
Before she fell asleen nno of hor Knn
thers wishing to comfort her as she passed
through the dark valley, said, "Sister,
Jesus is with you, precious Jesus." She
replied, "Praise Him!" Often during her
illness she would repeat the verse "Bless
Ihe Lord, oh my soul, and all that Is
within me bless his holy name!" As In
life, so in death, her last words were
praises for her Lord and Savior.

CONVINCED
Woman's Interesting Experience.
A Md. woman tells how she was convinced
In regard to a matter of vital importance.
She says:
"Before 1 used Grape-Nuts I was almost
a physical wreck. 1 suffered untold
agonies from indigestion, could not sleep
at night, was on the verge of nervous
prostration. *
"I finally purchased a pkg. of GrapeNuts,
and the one pkg. convinced me it
was just what I needed. I gradually
grew better as I continued to eat the
food and my ills vanished.
"I can now sleep soundly every night,
going to sleep as soon as I retire. I
never have dyspepsia any more.
"Too much cannot be said in favor
of Grape-Nuts as a brain food for school
children?makes them rosy and active.
"It is just the kind of food one needs
for that tired feeling, and produces a
reserve force and energy which lasts."
"There's a Reason."
