Baskerville.?On April 9, 1909. at the
home of her son-ill law, Rev. H. T. Graham,
in the eighty-second year of her
age, ar.d after an illness of three mouths,
Mrs. Alice Riddle Baskerville. widow of
the late Col. Wm. Baskerville, of Mecklenburg
Co.. Va. During all her life she
was a devoted member of the Presbyterinn
Church. A gentle woman of the old
school of cultured mind and charming
manners. By all who Knew her she will
be held in gracious and affectionate remembrance.
Lyon.?At her home in Nashville,
Tenn., April 8, 1909, at 7:15 p. m., Mrs.
Susan Winter Lyon, wife of Dr. A. A.
Lyon, of this city.

his departure and to rejoice in his memory.

The session of Mizpah church, being
assembled in regular quarterly meeting,
adopted the following preamble and resolutions:
Whereas, Since our last meeting, it has
pleased our Allwise Faiher to call, from
earth to heaven, our beloved brother
and co-worker, Dr. Samuel Piea.->au:s
Christian, who departed this life on
March 29, 1909, in the eighty-ninth year
of his age;
Therefore, be It resolved, by the session
of Mizpah church, Highland Park,
Richmond, Va.,
First, That in the death of Dr. S. P.
Christian the session has lost out: of
Its most valued counsellors and our
Church one of its most consistent and
consecrated members;
Second, That Dr. Christian exhibited, in
his life, the Christian graces of lovo
and patience to a marked degree; that
he walked so closely with God, thac
death was only the means of his translation
to the glories of heaven;
Third, That we extend to the family of
our deceased brother, and* especially tQ
nis wiaow, our heartfelt sympathy In
their loss and commend them to the love
of that Savior In whom their loved one
has fallen so peacefully asleep;
