* PRESBYTERY OF PARIS.
I'rosbytery met in Marshall First
Church, April 22, at 8 p. m., and was
opened with a sermon by Moderatorelect
J. G. Varner, from Rom. 10: 4.
Present: Seventeen ministers and seven
teen ruling elders.
Officers: J. G Varner, moderator;
Thos. F. Gallaher, temporary clerk; Edgar
VV. Williams, reading clerk; C. C.
Weaver, press reporter.
Ministers Received: Rev. Jno. A. Williams,
from Durani. Presbytery; Rev. W.
K. Johnston, from Presbytery of Fort
Worth.
Laymen's Movement: The laymen bad
a fine meeting, there being some thirty
laymen present. Presbytery devoted Friday
to this branch of the work. A number
of very fine addresses were made.
They have asked to be used in a publicity
campaign in the Presbytery.
Calvin Celebration: Presbytery hoard
fine addresses from Rev. J. S. Baird,
Rev. S. M. Ttnney and others, and decided
to hear more at the fall meeting.

Evangelistic Conference was held Saturday
night and addresses made by Dr.
T. J. Bell, "The Evangelistic Ohurih";,
Rev. A. L. Whitfield, "Evangelistic Pastor";
Rev. E. W. Williams, "Methods";
Rev. A. W. Wilson, D. D., "Needs of the
Year"; Rev. Jno. Williams, "Work in
General."

Publicity Campaign: At the suggestion
of the laymen and others. Presbytery
will, on the fourth Sabbath of May,
through the laymen and ministers, reach
every cnurcn in tlie Presbytery and lay
the claims of missions upon them; each
minister is to be used and as nrany laymen
as will offer their services.
Overtures: The Presbytery of Pails,
in session at Marshall, do respectfully

at Savannah Ga., if the way bo clear, to
instruct the Home Mission Committee to

Glenn as their representative, to labor
